going there a pain , dirt road , full lot of pole hole. But very big , lot of stuff though , got breeding section & retails, but staff there not that friendly
call them first b4 u go , normally the fella at the counter will pass the line to the foreign workers to answer your questions, that is
how rude/lazy/arrogant those management staff are. And u are like Duck talk to chicken, they speak #%^& kind of malay.
I didn't buy anything there cos they can't give the price and rudely said not fixed price yet so won't sell now and turn face around(muka masam juga) . , some of those fish/etc there also look not that healthy, tightly cramped.

Do any1 try GEX soil green pack with CRS before?mind to share the experience for keeping shrimp?I plan to invest my current tank with CRS and moss.ADA soil will keep for my planted root tank instead of moss

where you brought the GEX soil green? saw some GEX soil in NA but didn't check it out. Got the benibachi shrimp soil instead(not yet use ).
Came across a guy in singapore using the GEX green soil + ADA aquasoil in the tank, he updating his tank progress..maybe u can follow it.

If big tank then have to top up water quite much because of evaporation.

Seachem purigen , can get from hehe- East Aqua Ikano branch(other branch don't have cos i nag ikano branch to restock - still got 2 box 100g left since i brought 1 more to keep) , Natural Aquatic World (aka NA subang got like 4 box 100g and the 250g bottle type, (if u buy the 250g bottle u need to get ur own filter bag as purigen media is very tiny in size, get the smallest pore size filter bag), ALL THE 100G come packed in filter bag - easier) , Aquatic Paradise in kajang got 2 box.

AI , 88 pets mart , Nilufar , Qian Hu ,all DON'T have(one of them don't know what is purigen -hahahahaahah) although they claim as one of the BIGGEST LFS in malaysia

Cheapest i can get is RM45 after discount for the 100g purigen , if u can get it cheaper let me know which LFS.

O almost forgot to tell u, DON"T use any amine based polymer dechlorinator with Purigen , it will not foul the resin but will render it non-regenerable.
I change to Seachem Prime bcos of that and i love it. It didn't smell and stain my 11 liters mineral water bottles like API stress coat.

The problem only occurs when one attempts to regenerate the resin, there is no problem unless you wish to regenerate the resin you are using. NA also dun know bout purigen at first, until i recommend to them, since their distributor at penang (advance reef) got carry seachem products, so i suggest them to try the biggest tank in front of their shop is actually using purigen now (last time was using carbon), boss say water is much more clearer now

oh...I using GEX soil normal type green pack not shrimp type. I read from some forum they said will having pH fluctuation,i guess maybe their tank is not yet full cycle. So i wish to see any used GEX soil normal type for CRS used by lyn or not. Wanna see any problem they face. As i got 2 tank 1 GEX 1 ADA, GEX tank is existing planted tank and i found the soil like lack of nutrient after 1year i used so i plant to rescape it and set for up for CRS. Another tank using ADA is new tank.

benibachi shrimp soil is very good but very expensive. as long as the soil does it purpose of reducing the ph = good already. in taiwan they breed kingkong/ruby wine/pure red line in 5.0-5.5 ph. very low but the colors are strikingly awesome!

for me i won't use the recycle GEX soil for CRS unless you can clean out all the debris left over from previous planting (plant root, rooted leave etc),
CRS need water to be very clean , better free from organic pollutant, if you have to use the Gex soil i suggest you get seachem purigen in your filter to help clean/absorb all the organic pollutant, but this will cost you around rm45 for the 100g purigen(treat up to 400litres water capacity) .

ADA soil , the problem is the long ammonia leeching period , took around 1 mths b4 the leeching subside, although a cycled tank will keep
the ammonia level under control , it will easily leech ammonia if the soil is disturbed in first month or so, a sudden spike in ammonia will wipe/kill
your CRS. (ADA soil need longer mature period and extra care, I'm using ADA new amazonia in my crs/shrimps tank cos i started as planted tank then converted to shrimps tank).

my choice i will add in ADA soil into current Gex soil for planted tank and get benibachi soil for the new CRS tank , for shrimps tank an inch thick of soil is sufficient. fyi benibachi soil 5Litres cost rm120 at NA(bargain abit, stated price is rm130)

wow?ADA need 1month to cycle the tank and balance the water pH.I never knew that bro, thx for your information. If existing soil will give me problem i think i better use new Amazonia for CRS. Benibachi is too costly for me, i think i wont try it

No, u can cycle a tank with ADA soil < a mths with sufficient bio-media and good filters just that the ammonia leeching of the ADA soil can continue > a mths, with capable bio-filters those ammonia will be neutralize in time, just that if u itchy hand and stir/'kacau' the soil a sudden ammonia spike may appear and may kill/wipe ur nearby CRS when the aquasoil soil is still new. This is due to the fragility of CRS.

You can keep HC or others nice plant, but what is your priority , plant or CRS? for me i choose shrimps that y i remove my C02 system, throw away my HC , carpeted Glosso & other plants. Keep mainly moss and marimo ball now. I using seachem iron, potassium,excel & borneowild lush, they are safe for shrimps, just don't overdose and to be safe use half recommended amount, now i seldom use those, only dose a very little once every 2 weeks.

if your wish is have nice planted tank(with HC, glosso etc) and keep CRS, i recommend that you build up the aquascaping/planting part first, when all things settle down(tank parameter stable ,plant healthy and growing) then only you start learn/keep more hardy shrimps like Red Cherry/Fire red first then only CRS. (u will save alot on lesson fee, as the CRS cost more then x5 the price of an red cherry).

bought purigen for RM39 only..
next monday will use it in my 1.5ft tank..kesian sama itu otto living with pollute pesticide water.

if i buy those purigen, will they give me a mesh bag? or do i have to find them individually or buy it separately?

If you buy the 100g Purigen (the min volume u can get) it already come packed in a sealed mesh bag.
other volume like 250g , 500g or more all come in bottles which require one to get their own mesh bag or socks(some ppl use this )

My spare 100g Purigen (they come with MESH bag)
