2 of the 3 Yamato also gone case, i think got chemical in the water, I used a small stone from my flower pot to tie java ferns during the WC, maybe my mom put pesticide on the flowers / plants and the chemical residue is still on the stone... cry.gif

On top of this, it's not easy to get Malaya shrimps, else will give a try. True, Yamato doesn't help much by removing algae.

Managed to get a pair of Malaya shrimps here (RM4.5 each) in PG and 50g of Benibachi mineral rock (RM5). Hopefully they will survive, bit scare now...

Arrow,

50g enough for 1ft tank? Need to wash the rock before dropping into the tank? Can place anywhere in the tank? Plan to hide it behind the Windelov fern...

50g. normally in 1kg pack depend on size of the stone , got like 8 ~ 10 pcs , i put 2~3 into a 1ft tank, there is no harm put a little bit more,
if i setup 2ft sulawesi tank , i will use at least 1.5~2kg of the stone.
If you don;t like the dust, you can rinse it off with some tank water, but for me i don't waste the mineral powder that came off , i put direct into tank.
you can put anywhere you like in your tank, i even put one or two in the HOB filter but only after it settle for a month in the tank.
Malaya is more hardy then cherry, if you able to kill it, should do a deep post-mortem on your tank and setup.

hmmmm, 2-3 = 300g, need to get more rocks then? Or just put in 50g to see how it goes? after how long need to replace with new rocks?

difficult to locate the Malaya in the tank, they changed color blink.gif

how about green shrimp Caridina Babaulti, as hardy as Malaya?

this morning, still can see at least 2 of the adult and some juvenile cherry shrimps still beronda-ronda in the tank... phewwwww

Tricky as chemical and some biological warfare will hurt your shrimps, try control your feeding(reduce), you can also put it one or two otto to help compete for some food with the flat snails, it help reduce some of them in my tank.
Mini puffer fish known to eat snails as well as your shrimps.
