Hi,

I own an EB Premium since Jan 2012. Mileage is around 7K.
Here is some feedback after 4 months used.

Here are some of the problems:
1) External Door Handle
Paint comeoff due to friction between the moving part (everytime you pull the door handle).
All Exora model have this issue.
Please check your Exora, sure kena...

2) Washer Cap broken.
The quality of the plastic not good, due to heat, the plastic string holding the cap will be broken.
I think this happen to all proton cars..

3) Right Head Lamp
Got vapor inside during heavy rain - awaiting replacement lamp

4) Radio
The radio will generate 'noise' when you put on reverse gear when the radio frequency is between 100 ~ 103Mhz
Not sure if it is due to interference from the reverse camera.
Proton had refer me to Clarion service centre - will visit them later this week or next week.
Please check your Exora, if you have this issue...

In term of drivability, I have 2 complains
1) The CVT gearbox is very noise especially when slowing down (Below 40km with radio off)
2) The car may/will 'jerk' will moving at low speed (Start/Stop at traffic jam) - around 10km ~ 30km


Overrall the car is good and value for money...

I've been using for like almost 2 months, mileage around 2500km
I never test the top speed yet and maybe never will the most I ever go with EB is 130km/h for now
The only problem I have with my EB is the engine shut down suddenly when idle...in 2 months, 3 times happened. Will check with SC during my 5k service. Other than that is perfectly fine

The thing that I dislike about EB is

1. CVT noise so loud when deceleration ( 30km/h and below) i think this is normal, not a problem
2. The car jerk like manual ( at low speed only) i believe this is normal for our type of CVT
3. The dashboard attract dust easily
4. When compressor is on, from outside the car is too loud, but inside is good
5. No ISOFIX to install baby seat properly even my satria neo have it. How a family car dont have that?

On your 1st point, which area/part actually is hitting each other?? Is it design intent of the car? Nothing we can do from our side to prevent it from happening??

On your 2nd point, u mean washer cap on the engine compartment? But during warranty proton should bear the replacement cost right?


On your 3rd point, when actually it start to vaporized? After 3 months? Head lamp cover by the warranty? What else covered?


Please update us again on the 4th point after you've met Clarion ya'

vaporized? means that there's a leak at the lamp...

I brought my car to Proton CoSE for service and complaint. Surpringly they are a number of Exora Bold Premium where I see their driver seatback can rock forward and backbaward. I was told by the service advisor that this is free play as advised by the vendor. It is not convincing for me, why the Exora Bold in the showroom doesn't have this. Also was surprised that for validating seat problem further, they need to take the car to the seat vendor office.??? Shouldn't Proton has a say of what is defect and what is good?

the thing highlighted happen to, well i sent orady for second service last week, they just TUNE up my engine, i thought everything fine, uh, the problem still there.....well, im unable to send it back due to my location...i will update late after i send it back.....

About That, I've check with bkt maluri proton Edar sc, they said must change the oil control valve. It's just a minor replacement at the bottom of the engine. I'm still wait for the parts to come, been 2 weeks now

Any owner here the gear knob is loose? It can be tight back by rotate it clockwise, but it is not striaght facing infront.

it seems there's a plenty of prob with eb... hope they can rectify all of them in the 2nd batch... cause plan to get it next year...

my myvi 1.0 was 1st batch but no problem ..

P.Myvi is a mature model when launch in 2005.
It's a copy of Daihatsu Boon(Sirion)/Toyota Passo, launch 1 year earlier.

Overall, Exora Bold CFE is value for money.
The only complain from me is the noise level of the CVT gearbox

Item#1. Attached is a photo to show.
I personally think that it's a design issue. Too much free play on the handle.
Saga, Persona, Satria Neo share the same handle unfortunately it's not an issue. (Their handle don't have some much free play compare with Exora)

It should happen to all Exora (Bold, FL etc), let me know if it happen to your Exora also.

After complaining to SC, they said can touch-up for me, unfortunately they can't guaranty it won't happen again. I think it will happen again since the issue is not address!
Will complain to iCare later.



Item#2, should be under warranty, if they don't honour it, I will complain to iCare. (Waiting for part)



Item#3, I notice it about 2 months ago when I wash my car. Understand it's an issue with Exora (Blod, FL etc)
Waiting for parts to arrive.


By the way, I am also waiting for 'Rear View Mirror with LCD'.
I don't have any issue with the mirror/LCD, but SC said got issue. They had order a new one for me.
(Probably there is some known issue with the mirror/LCD, they are doing a silent replacement once they detect the mirror/LCD belong to the problem batch)

what's actually the different between SC and iCare?? if got problem need to report to both parties?

After checking, I realise same thing happen to me. The paint comes out. Another problem.

I think All Exora should have the same problem on the paint coming off from the external door handle.
I think most owner didn't notice it, it kind of hidden..
Time to report to Proton

SC is usually the local Service Centre, it could be Proton Edar or 3rd party Dealer's Service Centre.
iCare is a centralise helpline to help customer on their issues or complains.

Hi, anyone has this symptom? The orange light on the circulate button turn off itself. Every time I have to press the button (off) and then press again (on). It happened to me 3 times already.

Never notice that before...

well, they said better check for faulty scan, then they can identify the problem, in case, the faulty is not the same....

anyone adjust the headlamp of the EB before? mine on the right side is higer then the left
