I received my item from Japan by EMS and the tracking shows that as of 27th Apr, the item is at customs. How could I retrieve it?

I think you can answer yourself, the box dimension already given, so you could measure yourself can fit or not into the box.

Can I send a Poslaju Parcel at my local pos office? Or do I need to go to the poslaju branch nearest to me?

Isn't today consider first weekend? Pos Laju should closed. But I saw the Pos Laju guy send out parcels today.

This is common. Always call them for more info. Online tracking not accurate most of the time.

I asked the PPL and they said Parcel have arrived in Malaysia but they don't know when will arrive....... now still waiting for it
