Page 1 only shows guidelines for budget below 2k and 1k. And I am asking a specific question whether trek x caliber is a good choice on the assumption that sifus here are experienced in mountain bikes and know what is good and what is not. tongue.gif

My apology if this is not even allowed here. I will post on sum other forum like mtbr then.

Lol. Don't get butthurt laugh.gif
You see, don't expect/assume us to know everything (this includes bike/component prices) and have tried everything (in this matter Trek X Caliber, I don't think most of the forumners know what is the spec of Trek X Caliber). It would help a bit if you state the specifications of the bike. At least we can say if the component is ok or lousy, etc. icon_rolleyes.gif

Anthony might be a bit blunt to get you to read page 1 but your reply above fits better in mtbr... go and ask there.

All of these for..? Is it around RM4k? If yes, should be ok I guess. And then upgrade bit by bit. Maybe can lose weight at crank.

Ok la i guess. Trek is a bit expensive. Just look at the major components. Fork should be ok ady. Reba I think can take a beating better than SiD (but a bit heavier than SiD). Drivetrain, RD ok la. X7 is acceptable. The crank, if you're not such a bling guy, should be ok. If not, upgrade it later. Avid Elixir 1 not too sure. This is new to me. So far I've been using Avid Elixir R, they are fine (except for squealing sound when I got my first pair, sold it). Now using an Elixir R which came with my bike, no problemo. The tires, not too sure. But tires are cheap if you want to swap it out later.
Try to nego, if can. Oh, try checking BBS to see how much other 29ers costs and compare. wink.gif

Cyphereza - looks like it's a very worth bike to get if i can pull the price down to 4300. Haha. I am more confident with the bike now . Before i was just convinced by its looks.

Kaizer - thank you for providing me other brands to consider. I think the x caliber fork made of custom G2 Geometry, according to the specs. So shudn't be a problem. Correct me if i am wrong. And i m most likely wrong

You don't like Scott spark or giant trance/anthem? The hard tails for Scott and giant should be very decent at ur target price.

Anyway. Newbies get butthurt replies here all the time. Those that can take butthurt are the ones that usually is still actively posting here. They like to butthurt and be butthurted. 😳
