ahh don't get me wrong... i personally don't discriminate against the houses of Grand Seiko and Credor...
i was just highlighting a common public perception...
The fact that you have chosen a one over the popular Explorer II is testament to its merits... one simply doesn't spend that sort of money without proper thought and deliberations so power to you..
Ive worn my G-Shock proudly to the workplace and meetings plenty of times when i could've worn my Daytona instead...
Do take pics of your new acquisition  thumbup.gif

yes thats the common perception, as long as U are unaffected for it great.

The demand for GS has been strong, and they are noting that to sell in countries that showed demand. The production of the GS are low anyway, for many years they cannot fill the local market demand. And don't u know Jap are very brand conscious too.

I, too am a G-shock kind of guy. It goes so well with my hard cap and safety boots work attire.

I love mu G- shock to bits. Master of G series is my fav.

Added on October 5, 2012, 10:49 pmOne more point I want to add:

Somehow wearing a a G-Shock esp the MoG series allows me to be with the boys. It is cool enough to garner WOWs without the embarassment of being seen as a show off or poser.

Daytona or Pam will never allow me to be with the boys.

when did they come up with the tagline 'master of G'?
last time my G9000MS fell under military inspired series.

anyway, the g-shock i'm thinkin of next is one of the aviator ones.

kinda sux tho that for the price ur basically paying extra for atomic timekeeping which is useless in this region.

tritium vs luminor.... it's no contest in terms of brightness but the lume decreases over time and requires light for its juice... the tritiums are not dependant on any form of light and is good to glow for a (claimed) 25 years...

My crew are mainly sweaty blokes, who earns slightly above the minimum wage. So no PAMs, APs or Rollie for me.

I don't doubt the desirability, merits or the quality of Seikos. Just saying that their marketing leaves a lot to be desired.

And their lineup's a mess doh.gif doh.gif ... Pressage, Mechanical, Criteria, Spirit etc... Can anyone tell what's the message behind each lineup?

Also when they come out with a cult fav... the monsters for example....I can't brain why they dilute it by doing a monster-like Seiko 5.

the goal to cover entry level right up to luxury and to differentiate domestic and international market have created this.
profit is rolling in and demands is up, isn't a red flag to them to show their marketing is seriously wrong.

Maybe its the global conditions but they aren't exactly doing brilliant as of late.

http://www.seiko.co.jp/en/ir/financial/hilight.php

Anyway... I'm just saying that Seiko have so much backstory and heritage that its a shame that they didn't make full use of it compared with lesser western "brands"

I want to know where can I get a service in KL for watch stainless steel strap resize. As I was buying online here : http://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/OCEAN-1-BLACK,14.html

Preferably a cheap and trustable shop. Can I go to any watch shop in around Low Yat - sungai wang - pavilion ? I prefer to go to that area.

So if anybody got recommendation for watch servicing (strap resize) please tell me also the expected price
