Hi all,  my fren is in Rome now and will travel to London and Paris later this week, she is asking where is the better place to get a Rolex, France, Italy or uk?
*
Hard to say. Depend on model/discount you can get. Also the VAT refund is different for each country... credit back or cash.

Edit: Out of curiousity.. I checked with my well-travelled shopaholic friend and according to her, its still cheaper to buy in Taiwan (where I reside) if can get 15% discount.

I think it boils down to what's your expectations for it and what you're going to wear it for?

My 2 cents:

On the positive side, it certainly looks nice, functional and accurate and fairly affordable.

On the other hand, its pretty expensive considering its a quartz, not really for impressing people (if that's your thing) and not something you'll pass down to the next generation biggrin.gif

Thanks! Where would be the recommended location to get this watch, I saw online (Davis shop) that it's selling for ~1.1k MYR, is this the price I should expect in retail shops as well? Would it be recommended to get in KLIA, in 1 of the watch shops for the domestic flights?

cuz 17.5k is for a second hand PAM 90  and 19k is for a brand new PAM104. so now i'm wondering which one more worth. lol.
but i read on the other watch forum and it said PAM resale value better than omega that's why i even gave up the omega speedmaster or de ville. n PAM 104 and PAM 90 running the same movement too right except one have the power reserve sign?
i was asking for a tag heuer heritage at first and then omega de ville or speedmaster. but then the dealer said tagheuer resale value is very low. and then suggested my father panerai. but new one is ard 22k. so my father decided to buy the second hand PAM90 for 17.5k. but i realise brand new PAM 104 is just 19k. lol.

PAM resale value also dropping. yes the all LE factor does help to a certain extend but to go from selling price at 10-15% higher than retail to 20-35% off retail. is a big drop over a short 5yrs. if its continues to fall to ~40% off retail is like Omega already.

LE = Limited Edition.

patryn33's saying that Panerai is supporting resale value by having limited editions/ controlling output but in the long run may not help.

Kinda like what Hermes is doing with their Birkin.

There's a long Q for it anyways, even if you can afford it haha.

I was offered around 10k for this haha.

Still thinking since 10k is not a small sum, plus when you are exposed to 5 digit budgets, you can always get some awesome watch like Zenith and etc too smile.gif

Hi guys, the leather strap on my Cerruti watch is starting to smell really bad. Anyone know any shop I can send it to get the smell off? Or is there an official Cerruti shop where I can change the strap?
