How much savings would you get from buying online vs local AD? How much is the model you're buying?

Then judge if its worth the risk of package getting lost or stolen along the way.

i'm eye-ing on the tagheuer carrera heritage automatic watch. http://www.authenticwatches.com/tag-heuer-...ml#.UEo5-6PNS7I anyone know how much is the cheapest i can get in msia? i'm not sure the risk of the package getting lost or stolen high or not cause i never buy something online oversea but just domestic only. That's why i wanna ask if someone purchase it through that website before. This is the first time i buy watch therefore maybe some stupid questions are being asked. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

not bought from them b4. check reviews on WUS
http://forums.watchuseek.com/f20/authentic...ost3983528.html

duration - dependings on shipping method.

no tax by Msia gov.
legit company will insure it, stolen or lost you are covered. why save $$ getting it shipped uninsured? LOL
best deal if U can get it from LVMH sale!

usually there is a sale in Fall and spring sales in States and prices are at 50% off; they still come with factory warranty

I have bought on Ashford b4 and they are legit still can bargain. see what local AD can get U and fight for addition 10-20% on grey dealers.

Obviously there's insurance smile.gif but imo not worth the heartache of your eagerly anticipated toy not arriving and the trouble of a claim if its just marginal cost savings.

Unless its something that cannot get locally.

thanks for the suggestions. i guess i'll just buy it from an authorised dealer since it'll be easier. xd

was expecting a 7k tagheuer but in the end, my father bought me a second hand PAM 90 (first buyer bought on 2010 31st august) L series which cost my father rm17.5k. I'm wondering is that PAM worth for that money? or if you were me, you could have just add on rm1.5k more to get a NEW FRESH PAM 104? thanks!

17.5k + 1.5k... for a Valjoux 7750 movement?

cuz 17.5k is for a second hand PAM 90 and 19k is for a brand new PAM104. so now i'm wondering which one more worth. lol.

RM 19K for a Val-7750 movement, what a rip off.

Can get a Ball COSC Val-7750 at RM 10K liao.

Even cheaper if it is a Tissot.

PAM = rip-off.  vmad.gif

but i read on the other watch forum and it said PAM resale value better than omega that's why i even gave up the omega speedmaster or de ville. n PAM 104 and PAM 90 running the same movement too right except one have the power reserve sign?

QUOTE(h11g @ Sep 15 2012, 12:48 PM)
since your father bought it already just enjoy it, btw did you ask for a pam in the first place? or your father decided for you? just curious~!  tongue.gif

i was asking for a tag heuer heritage at first and then omega de ville or speedmaster. but then the dealer said tagheuer resale value is very low. and then suggested my father panerai. but new one is ard 22k. so my father decided to buy the second hand PAM90 for 17.5k. but i realise brand new PAM 104 is just 19k. lol.

PAM resale value also dropping. yes the all LE factor does help to a certain extend but to go from selling price at 10-15% higher than retail to 20-35% off retail. is a big drop over a short 5yrs. if its continues to fall to ~40% off retail is like Omega already.
*
hmm, can explain what LE stand for and the bold part? sorry. not really good at those retail thing. >,< thanks!

LE = Limited Edition.

patryn33's saying that Panerai is supporting resale value by having limited editions/ controlling output but in the long run may not help.

Kinda like what Hermes is doing with their Birkin.

So fragile? You can always get a beater that you won't sakit hati if break or scratched. This is mine... worn this since 2007. Bought it cos I was travelling quite often and money was tight. But I love it to bits
