QUOTE(gapnap @ Feb 26 2012, 01:43 AM) Their new Aquaracer series are retailing around RM5000-RM6000. Generic movements , and you can get a good discount from AD . Its Okayyyy what . C'mon , there MANY other brands who "upgrade" their ETA movement and charge 4 times the price . there are also many brands that did not upgrade the ETA movement and charge 4X less the price of a Tag. Added on February 26, 2012, 2:20 amQUOTE(hanz079 @ Feb 25 2012, 05:24 PM) Added on February 25, 2012, 5:37 pmIf I have 3-4k to spend on a watch... for everyday wear... I would definitely go for this. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I am a big fan of their watches and I sold off my old DC67 and now waiting to pull the trigger on this, just that I have more targets than money... lol too bad damasko has move from using Top/Elabore grade ETA movements to standard grade and charging the same price. A number of ppl are pissed off with their move. This post has been edited by patryn33: Feb 26 2012, 02:20 AM

I m tired of changing battery every few years so this watch battery is supposed to last forever. Please let me know where I can find a shop that sell reasonable price G-Shock watch. Thanks.

Maybe you can find one that says Tough Solar on the dial. Those run on rechargeable solar power... suppose to last 3 years without seeing sunlight, with sunlight... forever I guess?

Yes, the rechargeable battery lasts as long as the watch, I checked the Casio website. Even people lives in Alaska wear this watch with no battery problem for more than 5 years! The below model has Tough Solar.

For LCD watches, there are 3 important major components a buyer should aware of, the battery, the circuit board and the LCD display. When the company mentioned the battery lasted as long as the watch, did they refer to the circuit board or LCD display? Generally, a watch LCD panel has a life of 7 years. The watch is rendered useless (died) when the LCD panel or the circuit board dies. Assuming the the watch battery lasted 7 years, at that time, when you changed the rechargeable battery it will cost you couple of magnitude more compared to ordinary battery that you changed every 3 years. IMO, we live in a place where battery is ubiquitous there is no need for rechargeable battery apart from the coolness factor which is why you buy the watch in the 1st place QUOTE(versey @ Feb 26 2012, 02:44 PM) Yes, the rechargeable battery lasts as long as the watch, I checked the Casio website. Using solar energy, and reduce battery consumption is good, saving the earth. If LCD watch can tahan 7 years only, then how long LCD TV or LCD monitor can tahan? 3 years?? Please read more about G-Shock watches! G-Shock is build to last many years!! http://forums.watchuseek.com/f17/g-shock-u...lay-416356.html

I would like to share a very bad experience with Springwell, Mahkota Parada Melaka. Went there to look at a particular watch model with intention to purchase. As usual, no sales assistant came even when there was no other customers in the shop. After several minutes standing there staring at the display cabinet, i gestured to one of them to come over. He did, albeit looking reluctantly, and walked sloppily taking his sweet time. When he reached, I pointed out to the watch and asked for it to be taken out. He muttered, 'oh this watch 20% discount, no more nego' and ended with a loud BURP! He didnt excuse himself for his lack of manners and went to take the key, i presume. Well, I didnt wait and just left the shop.

Err...you can try Watatime shops. The one in Subang Parade still carries Omega..but not all Wata carries Omega. They usually give better discounts. But overall...discounts for Omega is quite standard..Hourglass or Sincere about max 10% unless you getting clearout stocks. Good luck...
