anyone subscribe to the multiroom service?

some say it's a fixed charge of monthly RM50, regardless of what package you're subscribing

and some say it's 50% of your monthly charges, Min RM50

then some say it's only offered to those using IPTV service rclxub.gif

If it's truly only RM50 per month, I'm getting one for me room

I was told that once I use BeyondHD service, my RCA adaptor on the terminal will be disabled and I can only use the HDMI output. That would mean I won be able to use the tv downstairs.

Is this true?

Before I terminated, I actually have a Dell 245WFP connected to HDMI. For audio, a simple pair of Altec Lansing PC speaker connected to an adapter and to the bae yong RCA audio out. With HD service activated the decoder can still output both HDMI and RCA. No reason to believe things has changed. So, false.

If they did change it tho: mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif vmad.gif

People with monitor output who use HDMI for picture only but speakers on RCA for sound, how?

Fact: most Monitor HDMI do not accept sound, it's basically a second DVI connection with HDCP and a different header only. Even if it has speakers, these speakers are normally independent of the monitor HDMI circuit and uses 3.5mm audio in jack. Only a few monitor models with speakers support sound through HDMI.

Hi guys,

I have a question, I am thinking of upgrading my package to superpack 3 with HD service.

At the moment I am using non HD package and the main decoder is in my room. I have a 2nd plasma tv downstairs via RCA splitter. My connection is a bit complicated in which the splitter RCA cable is then linked to a RCA converter which is then linked to the TV downstairs using the standard antenna cable.

I was told that once I use BeyondHD service, my RCA adaptor on the terminal will be disabled and I can only use the HDMI output. That would mean I won be able to use the tv downstairs.

Any way so that I can use both HDMI and RCA at he same time?

This is not true. Hdmi , component and composite video as well as audio out are active at the same time.

I called Astro customer service and they now tell me that once I start using HDMI cable, the RCA will still have output but will result in both tv being blurred reception. So I am best to opt for 2nd decoder.

Is this true or Astro is doing one of it's sales pitch to me?

just to inform that my 2 year old Samsung SyncMaster B2330H accepts HDMI audio signal, though it doesn't have speakers but at the rear of the monitor it has 3.5mm jack to output 2-ch sound to PC speakers, and there's volume control on the monitor as well

I have similar setup as yours. My Byond decoder is located in living room downstairs, HDMI output to LCD TV. RCA composite went to RF converter and distributed to all other rooms using TV cable. The composite output would be SD quality even for HD channels. I even connect RGB component output at same time to a DVD recorder.

Are you a new subscriber ? If not, then I don't know the answer.

http://www.astro.com.my/packagepromo/greatpackages

Currently, there is a "The Best of Chinese Pack Offer" promo (8 Jun – 31 Jul 2012) for new subscribers who signed up for a minimum of RM 50 monthly subscription. This promo allows free view for 2 months on non-subscribed packages except for the following packages: Astro First, Astro Box Office Movies, and Astro Box Office Sports and do not include HD channels and HD and PVR subscription fee.

Mustika HD ch 134 was launched recently so all subscribers to HD service can watch until ?? July 2012 (cannot remember the exact date)

Hehehe... your ID suggests that you are malay or at least not chinese BUT... mmm... I suspect that Astro also opened this promo for ALL new subscribers during this promo period. Well... I am only guessing !

For your subtitle issue, please contact Astro Customer Support by phone because they are the best people to help on any technical issues and its much easier by direct person-to-person conversation. Since a few months ago, I did comment a few times before, about Ast Cust Supp as the first preferred contact for help. Your Astro subscription already included paying for their service support so don't be afraid to call them even for minor issues OR for any advise such as Byond settings.

Hehe... the only problem that many people will face is difficulty to get someone to answer the call BUT its the only way to get problems fixed a bit faster. Try calling at about 8 to 9 am. Hehe... by the way, their Astro support staff will always try their best to ignore or avoid answering in twitter and facebook which is NOT their official duties there !

Sorry for not answering your "subtitle" issue.  blush.gif
