The Thumb rest looks exactlythat fuji soft release sits pretty high tho...i prefer the one i got...feels more dslr like like the new Thumb up EP-6S (new model for X10 only) The EP-5S for X100 will block the mode dial if used on X10. On the X10 when we use the MULTI AF Mode the camera selects the focus area
automatically and on my camera there is always only one focus frame which turn green. Most other cameras like the S95 and RX100 there are 4 or 5 focus frames lighting up the areas in focus at the same time. Is it possible to get multiple focus frames on our X10? or are my settings wrong somewhere. X10 users please help Never mind, I will ask Fuji people when I send it fo sensor replacement next month. Added on August 24, 2012, 9:08 pmIs this the X10 replacement or a new model, Looks like it is sporting a manual zoom like the X10. Is that a touch screen ? Guess we will know more next month http://digicame-info.com/2012/08/x-3.html Added on August 24, 2012, 9:22 pm QUOTE(aquos @ Aug 18 2012, 09:56 PM) On the X10 when we use the MULTI AF Mode the camera selects the focus area Cheaper X-pro pics hereautomatically and on my camera there is always only one focus frame which turn green. Ken Rockwell has this to say
"POP Photo magazine just tested the RX100 (page 80, Sept 2012 issue), and high ISO performance is horrible, with only an ISO 400 maximum acceptable speed. Forget it if you were mislead into thinking the RX100 has a DSLR sensor, it's just a little sensor with a big marketing campaign behind it. If you want a posh point and shoot for $650 with a small sensor, get the Fuji X10 for $100 less with far better mechanics, much faster zooming and handling and a faster lens (Sony markets as "f/1.8," but the RX100 lens is only f/4.9 at the long end):" This post has been edited by enviro: Aug 25 2012, 08:48 AM |

Emailed fuji malaysia a few days ago regarding the sensor replacement but didnt receive any reply, sent a 2nd mail this time and got a reply as below : Good day to you! If you believe your Finepix X10 does have a fault, please kindly send your camera attached with the warranty card. If, failure to comply with the terms and conditions as stated in the guarantee card, it will automatically make the guarantee void. it will need to be looked at by our Camera Repairs Technicians at HQ for assessment. We do not provide any quotes or estimates until we have inspected the camera. So, you may send in your camera for inspection to our HQ or branches as below from 9.15a.m. to 5.45p.m., Monday- Friday (except public holiday) only. I thought the sensor replacement is FOC and doesn't need any fault? Or I need to show proof of the orb issue before they agree to replace the sensor? |

hi, my girlfriend owned a d3100 with 1855 kit lens, but she seldom use it because to her, its very bulky and heavy, so question is, is it wise to sell of the d3100 and buy the fuji x10 for her??
i know im comparing a dslr and a compact here( like comparing apple and orange), but i just want to hear some opinions. thanks in advance. |

If you want truly pocketable powerhouse, have a look at the Sony RX100. But if you like retro styling with lots of manual control, look no further.i know im comparing a dslr and a compact here( like comparing apple and orange), but i just want to hear some opinions. thanks in advance. 12 million pixel 2/3 inch EXR-CMOS sensor with EXR-Auto High-speed processing and high-speed response time 4 times Fujinon optical manual zoom lens (equivalent to 35mm camera 25-100mm), combined with digital zoom up to eight times F1.8 (Wide) – F4.9 (Telephoto) Optical Image Stabilization Full manual feature Bright, clear 3.0 inches / 460,000-pixel LCD screen 360 ° seamless mobile panorama function 11 Art Filter effects and 5 “film simulation modes for creative shooting, plus the relative displacement of the two 2D photos to create a 3D photo 3D shooting Full HD video capabilities, camera support manual optical zoom and Auto Scene Recognition Dedicated camera bag is optional Same sensor as X10 but faster lens, slim pocketable body and no need for lens cap are improvements over X10. QUOTE(aquos @ Sep 7 2012, 05:25 PM) Compact, high-end, with the appearance of three kinds of colors (black, red, brown) technically it is a much slower lens.12 million pixel 2/3 inch EXR-CMOS sensor with EXR-Auto High-speed processing and high-speed response time 4 times Fujinon optical manual zoom lens (equivalent to 35mm camera 25-100mm), combined with digital zoom up to eight times F1.8 (Wide) – F4.9 (Telephoto) Optical Image Stabilization Full manual feature Bright, clear 3.0 inches / 460,000-pixel LCD screen 360 ° seamless mobile panorama function 11 Art Filter effects and 5 “film simulation modes for creative shooting, plus the relative displacement of the two 2D photos to create a 3D photo 3D shooting Full HD video capabilities, camera support manual optical zoom and Auto Scene Recognition Dedicated camera bag is optional Same sensor as X10 but faster lens, slim pocketable body and no need for lens cap are improvements over X10. I think they will announce it in the next few days. f/1.8 to f/2.0 at wide angle is pretty insignificant, while f/4.9 of whatver that model is called to the f/2.8 of X10? X10 wins. also obviously has less buttons to attract the more general consumer crowd, so i wouldnt be surprised if it comes out priced somewhere between RM1.5 to 1.7k... Yeah better send it then. My camera seems fine now. Been using it a lot this hari raya. EXR is so nice to use when i'm not using the external flash. High ISO is no problem but ends up blur since the shutter speed is too slow.

No la. This one targeted at S100. One look can tell already. So now Fuji have 6 camera in the X lineup. Should look like this by price. XF1, X10, XS1, X100, XE1, XP1 |

Well it is still a compact with a small sensor. Though many of my friends say the picture is nice, like a DSLR. But that's majorly because it's damn good enough for web use. At 100% zoom the detail can never match bigger sensor system.
I'm not bloody rich enough to invest into a system but i don't intend to be too serious anyway. It's just a hobby and this camera is good enough with some manual control & external flash. So far i really like to use it with face detection & Astia color simulation. Add in a polarizer to use it outside the color is even better. I still hope Fuji can fix the dodgy AF and metering with a new firmware. |
