just found this forum...remind me how enjoy when fixing the modelling few year past..i'm the hot fans on TAMIYA and all other brand modelling kit also, still got 20..maybe 30 boxes still not fix yet, from tank, plane, motocycle, figure and ship...ahhhh..miss it but alway no time to fix.

welcome to this subforum... smile.gif

enjoy your stay.. smile.gif

Do you still into modelling? its understandable to have tons of kits but only 24hours a day to do a lot of things.. smile.gif

i think most of the modeller have the habit of buying but limited time to actually finish it.. (i'm one of them) smile.gif

still stuck in building my F22-Raptor.... thanks to kelvw built-up guide i can really finish my build...(although its not going to be as great as his model) smile.gif

with regards to magazine
i guess with each issue they have a detail cutaway & history of the featured aircraft? unsure.gif
maybe someone can actually scan a page and show it to us.. like a "pepatah" said - " Sharing Is Caring" smile.gif

i'm a big fan of aircraft cutaways.... but just cant shell-out a couple of hundred RM to get a decent wall-mounted-framed-full-color cutaways to adorn my room wall... for now i settled with a black n white printed-cutaways.. sad.gif

anyway...

enough of my rant... ")

welcome to your new hobby.. smile.gif

what plane is it?
have you completed the assembly and painting?

i read somewhere that we first must soak the decals in water before sliding it into place on the model...

i might be wrong...

hmmm.. i think if bought locally yes.. but if you get from online (HLJ) for example it would be a bit cheaper... for comparison..

Navy F4 Phantom II from Tamiya = RM30 ( Yen900 x 0.0329)

i'm planning to get that one together with some other stuff.. smile.gif

Ooo~~ I missed my modeling days sad.gif
but that was more than 15 years ago since I last touch modeling tongue.gif
used to be a big fan of Tamiya products, last time the price is quite cheap thou... a Tamiya 1/72 Apache cost me only RM20++, and a Tamiya 1/35 M1 Abraham tank also cost me only RM30++
My last model was a Tamiya APC which cost me only RM20++
But all of my model I only assemble and put on the sticker nia... no $$ to buy paint, expensive lar tongue.gif Luckily most of the military model mainly is in dark green or dark grey, still looks good without any painting thumbup.gif

Now? aiyo~~ need to think 10 times before buying Tamiya products, they are so bloody expensive!! cry.gif

k heres a photo of the cutaway in the pages of that air combat collection mag.
sadly they're not center spread so you cant really frame them unless you scan it real good and print it out 10R size.

i already ordered yesterday....
i ordered 2 Macross model...
1/72 VF-0S Macross Zero
and
1/72 Macross Plus YF-19
well.. that was about all the purchase for this year. smile.gif

dunno if i'm able to produce the end result as what they show on their site... but i'm gonna give it a try.. smile.gif
and somehow the YF-19 reminded me of that FA-37 Talon from the movie "Stealth" (not the EDI plane)
been trying to find the closest imitation to that plane.. hopefully this will do justice..

biggrin.gif

will do.. but my "in-progress" is not as detail as yours la kelvw.. smile.gif

now in the middle process already.. smile.gif thing left need fixing is just the tail (which i'm going to wait until painting) and the missile...

i'm going to build an in-flight model since its very hard and impossible to fix the landing gear on this cheap kits... smile.gif

we'll have to wait for the painting job... smile.gif

====

anyone know where i can purchase those Gundam Marker locally? thinking of getting them from HLJ.. but most of their marker already "backordered"... any idea? and this marker can be use with our aircraft model.. right?

thinking of using this to paint my cockpit.. smile.gif

GAMECON is on this Saturday 3rd-4th Dec at the Midvalley MIVEC. Wilayah & Selangor Modeling club will be having modelbuilding sessions for beginners and airbrushing armour workshops. More details here ... (not sure if the forum is working or not as it's been having some probs lately)

http://s12.invisionfree.com/ScaleModelsMalaysia/

Seemed quite difficult to find Future Floor wax already at ACE Hardware since most modellers already gasak a few bottles at one go hence the price increased and it's availability. I've not seen Johnson FloorWax here locally but only Future. You could still achieve the same tasks with Tamiya/Gunze's clear but of course much cheaper with future. But if u're dipping canopies it's better with Future.
