i think MAS didnt bought that plane... they just here for the technical test of the plane... and see how KLIA able to accomodate that plane later on..
also an oppurtinity for KLIA to serve that plane later on...

that's what i think i read in the newspaper last time..

Last time MAS did place an order for 8 for those whales.........but now they r courting financial difficulties + new managedment as the reason for not purchasing new planes......dunno if that affects the orders for the A380 or other planes like the b787 , b737-800 & embarers which were phased in for the their fleet renewal plan.

They do purchase, 4 and another 4 on option if i've not mistaken. The whale is comeing as a part of asia tour, it will be in Malaysia AIrlines Decals once it arrives in KLIA. MH leased 2 B737-800 to monitor their effieciency as a part to upgrade their 737 fleeet.

the A380 i showed you earlier is on its Asian Tour, enrouting to Dubai Airshow in late November.

A380 old version is A3XX, and i don't have it.

if i'm to decide, i'd forget about fleet upgrade for the moment. get rid of excessive MAS employees. and finally set up a subsidiary airline to serve those useless and unprofitable routes. THEN i think about buying either A380, A350, 787 or 738 or even A320!

but anyway, i've got the A380 1:400 diecast model in SIA livery.

does anybody hv models of the old MAS livery ?

& a lil outta topic , but I cant find a better place to ask , did MAS ever own the A300?

In fact, i'm not that sure if they really OWN the plane, but my memory tells me they do operate, perhaps they leased it from somewhere else, not that sure.

no A300s, but A330s. some are scheduled to operate KUL-PEN, although seat factors had been quite low. and yes, they are leased.

old livery, yes. i have 9M-MPD in old livery, now looking for 9M-MPD in the new Hibiscus livery. would also love to get hold of the 9M-MRD Heliconia 772. :wink:

now i'm confused ..... so MAS did operate the A300 or they dint?

naw .....i my collection isn't all MAS , but the MAS fleet is the most complete set of an airline i have , along with serveral tatical fighthers .

I'm quite sure MAS do have A300.. Last time I have a set of MAS aircraft models.. Set of 5, B744, B737, A300, Fokker and DC10.. That was... more than 10 years ago.. sigh.. childhood memory..

Wait I'll go take some photos of my old old collection.. cant really afford to buy new Herpa Wings, 1 plane at least rm120.. everytime walk past Nikko only stare outside the window and drip saliva only.. hehee

heh, i think what you mean from the sets of 5 is Schabak models, they are horrendous and the wheels look absoloutely ridicolous.

i know that link does look very familiar... i think they got featured in The STAR InTech a couple of months back... because basically some people is taking photo of an unmarked airliner (Secret Service, CIA etc) and post it there.. cool..

this morning suppose the be the time when the A380 will make a couple of pass over KLIA area (low flying) before depart to Tolouse, France (IIRC)

so anyone going to be in the vicinity to take some shot to share with us..
