Means they are finally using custom firmware for unifi officially? That's great.(ok maybe we still need to flash but at least the uninformed will know which router to get)

Thx everyone for not having us stuck with the crappy router from tm smile.gif

Throw in a free router for everyone tongue.gif

TP-link have been doing so for long time. You just need to bring to their service centre and they'll flash for you. It's just that now they pre-flash those units and labelled it as UniFi support so that customer need not get their hands dirty to flash them.

Only one Digital Mall in Malaysia... No??

Open up maps.google.com.my and type digital mall. The very first result is the digital mall he mean. The one in PJ Section 14.

Which is kinda why it's a surprise to me. A few months back I was sitting in klseet's office with the TP-Link engineers to fix the PPP LCP timeout issue on the routers. This was when you still had to manually flash.. and now its all prepackaged. Nice to see community work -> vendor -> back to community as a complete product laugh.gif

last Monday - 19 Dec I saw TM Unifi's kiosk at Tesco Kajang, and saw some box of TP-Link wifi router, but I don't stop to asking or look more close.

maybe some TM Unifi agent already standby with alternative router because of so many complain about default router given by TM

But I thought the very first custom, 841ND fw is released a year back? I've already used it for 3 months. And I think before my installation, the fw is already here. NO? I installed lately last year, dec.

Depends on location and the demand at your area. 1 months still ok, some online application installation appointment 2 months also got.

Currently TM having shortage of contractors so installation abit delayed.

Actually, it was early this year, I still can remember I was totally lost when you & TP-Link engineers were working on to trouble-shoot the disconnect/re-connect issue .... sweat.gif

Btw, the unifi sticker is there for quite some time.....
Actually the very first beta was out around end of 2010, but was having some d/c issue on some VDSL2 (HG650a). As I'm 1/2 cook-techie and unable to identify the issue, TPL flew in 2 engineers directly from their China R&D to trouble-shoot, and I have to get Rizvanrp since he is the subject matter expert & the best guy able to identify the real root cause ! rclxms.gif 841 users should indeed thank him! nod.gif

Back then TPL said may put up the pre-flash on retail market, I almost forgot that, also didn't go IT shopping for quite a while, didn't know now they pre-flash & pre-print on box, certainly make users life easier ! smile.gif

More than 1 year now, guess we UniFi users no need to worry about the 1 year TM's router warranty anymore and can fully enjoy UniFi kuat-kuat! biggrin.gif

I guess the only device left now it's the STB replacement option, might not be a big concern now, hope to see more initiatives here ! tongue.gif

Probably an issue with Unifi.. unless you haven't paid for a few months, then it might be worth the trip for them to cut you off the port. You can call them to verify account status.
