And i thought i am the only 1.... i am using this proxy now for Facebook: 175.136.243.74:8080

I would NOT recommend using this proxy for Facebook or any web apps unless you enjoy being spied on. Looks dodgy enough, seems to be hosted on a home line on a Mikrotik device.

Is it just me or Mikrotik have issues with their router?

Not sure what has happened but I can't seem to open even Google with my RB750. At first, I thought it was my PC being infected by malware/trojan or virus. To my surprise, even my handhelds were having the same problems.

It seems that everytime I went for Google, it will turn up to some Chinese website. How do I know that my Mikrotik was problematic? I switched to my TP-Link and it works like a charm.

My suspicion is either my Mikrotik has been hacked or Mikrotik itself having issues. Anyone having the same problem?

Agree with JinXXX.. sounds like a config issue or someone has reconfigured your Mikrotik. Specifically, check the DNS settings on your PC + the router. Personally I like to assign a web based DNS (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) directly to my clients and not use a local caching DNS server (check DHCP server settings on Mikrotik). If your DNS is fine, check your firewall rules.. someone might have put some redirects in there.

hi all,

May i ask a question..... if there s no dsl light at all, does it mean acc suspended or there s other problem with unifi ?

Thanks all.  notworthy.gif

Probably an issue with Unifi.. unless you haven't paid for a few months, then it might be worth the trip for them to cut you off the port. You can call them to verify account status.

But I thought even if the RJ11 is unplugged (in my case, VDSL) the DSL light will still be blinking? If completely off, router kaput?  hmm.gif

Hm yeah, I'm not sure what the VDSL2 BTU does if you still have POTS but you've been unpatched from the MSAN panel sweat.gif

A year and 30 routers+ later, I went to Digital Mall yesterday and saw the words 'Unifi Support' officially printed on some of the router packaging. From having no options to being able to buy one off the shelf at a shop, good job LYN community! laugh.gif

TP-link have been doing so for long time. You just need to bring to their service centre and they'll flash for you. It's just that now they pre-flash those units and labelled it as UniFi support so that customer need not get their hands dirty to flash them.

Which is kinda why it's a surprise to me. A few months back I was sitting in klseet's office with the TP-Link engineers to fix the PPP LCP timeout issue on the routers. This was when you still had to manually flash.. and now its all prepackaged. Nice to see community work -> vendor -> back to community as a complete product laugh.gif

hi everyone, contemplating getting unifi, cant stand the frequent disconnection with sreamyx and not forgetting the slow speed.

should i go ahead with it? i'm thinking of getting the vip10 package.
thoughts?

Talk to your neighbours who have it.. that will give you a rough estimate of the 'quality' of Unifi in your area because you will most probably be on the same port/card.
