I seem to still be having the damn GPS problem. The GPS is used for a few seconds when I turn on the phone, then goes off. I checked my battery usage and it shows the GPS was coming on and turning off by itself while I was sleeping last night. Already frozen Maps and what not.

Is there any app where I can control what is allowed to access the phone location?

must a rogue app that you allowed to check location. Anyways install LBE privacy Guard

Use this :

https://market.android.com/details?id=com.g...astreboot&hl=en

very good and does not require root. Put the widget on your home screen and whenever you want more RAM, click it. Mine frees up more than 100MB when I use it

Ohh, monitoring RAM can use Advanced Task Killer

yes, just there, then press menu key, then press show cached processes. this and the previous place you can see nearly everything that's running. If you want more then maybe process monitor widget or advanced task killer but i think the one that came with the phone is okay ad wan.

yea, you have no idea how many stupid app that i found requesting location/sms/call permission, all i deny after i install and lbe pops out asking to confirm icon_idea.gif.

there's a more powerful app called 'permission denied' but be very careful when using this, more powerful means more permission to edit and more apps(ALL, including systems) to edit, if you removed permission of an app that is vital to your phone, might fc then you might need to wipe laugh.gif

Well a nandroid backup is just a backup. Let say you try a new wipe rom and don't like it. So you want to revert back to your old rom, do you want to setup your old rom from scratch or restore from the nandroid backup. brows.gif

Also, one day the rom you have been using and liking for weeks suddenly get FC and everything fail to work. (Shit happens). Do you want to start again from scratch or restore a backup you did a few days ago. brows.gif

Nandroid backup is a backup in case something goes wrong. Not for you to restore into new roms.

My way, all backup, wipe then flash rom, setup google, download TB and restore only apps and data, setup my phone and settings rintones etc., do nandroid backup, start flashing themes/kernels etc., complete any other pending settings.

Normally takes me less than 1 hour to do backup, flash rom, restore and do settings.
