SO torn up right now, need help from all of the ROM masters here. Which would you people recommend for overall speed, stability, and battery life?

1. CheckROM Revolution v1.0 ★XXKI4★

2. XXKI8:BATISTA70 FOXHOUD EDITION 2.3 WIPE

3. CyanogenMod-7.1

CM sounds good because it has tons of hidden menus and the fantastic haptic feedback, but has camera issues...Do the other ROM's have the hidden menu's? The battery level in Batista70 looks very very cool...

hmm. Seems like everyone today is shifting to Batista70 and CheckROM

I have a question, when I backup all user apps in TB, does it backup the data in the apps like settings and savegames?

I was reading the CM forum and apparently HDMI out does not work. SO I will never turn to CM unless they include it...Tempted to try out Batista70 or checkROM.

Does CheckROM have the cool battery level like Batista70?

I have a qustion, I am planning on switching from my stock rooted KI3 to CheckROM Revolution, It says it is a no wipe ROM, so all I have to do is:

1.Clear caches in CWM
2. Flash
3. Reboot

Is that all or should I reset and clear data? I already did a nandroid and TB backup. My 12GB storage will not be cleared out right? only my 2GB ROM drive..

Edit: I guess I will have to use the wipe version

How do I apply themes in CheckROM? I downloaded the green one from the Kitchen app, marked for installation, it rebooted and the phone still looks the same

Anybody using SPB Shell 3D here?
I've got some query bout it....
*
I use it. Have set it up 3 times already, each time I flash a new ROM, I start over again. The weather panel thing, try restarting your phone. Mine showed current weather then a few seconds later, the forecast appeared.

To everyone else, stock CheckROM, quadrant is 4000

On CheckROM now, I notice my GPS keeps being used by itself, with no running apps. Only restarting or closing all running apps with the samsung task manager helps remove it. Anyone have any idea? I think it might be google's location collecting service, I remember seeing something about it while setting up my gmail account in my phone...no idea how to disable it

I do not have this problem with checkrom. What app did you close with task manager? You can just permanently close gps in the dropdown notification bar if you do not use it.
*
I figured it out already. I always leave my GPS on, because it is actually off if no app uses it. Makes no difference whether it is off or on, so easier to leave it on tongue.gif

Yeah I also always leave it on. So what was your problem?
*
Was a glitch, under google in the web browser, the settings were to check my location was off, so i turned it back on and then off again. I also disabled location checking under the settings in the web browser.

Just wondering what video player do you guys use or the stock player is good enough?

Is there a player that can support multi language?

Trying out mx player atm.
*
I have been through all, and MX is still the best. The others either have issues with hardware decoding or have lame subtitle support. MX also has a superb file browsing system, ultra easy to use.

Edit: Wonder why nobody else has the checkROM logo is their siggy hmm.gif

What would be a good Kernel for my CheckROM 1.0? I am currently running the default kernel which is the same one which I was running in my KI3.

Any kernel also can. Speedmod 2-5 and siyah 2.1 betas are the most used one. Check himself uses hellcat.
*
How to get the Siyah beta? the page at XDA only got the full version 2.0.

I guess I will use the Speedmod kernel. How does the battery life compare between them?

Thanks for the link. Flashing it now. You said in the previous thread that voltage control can control all the voltages and frequencies of the CPU and GPU right?

Yes it can but better dun UV for beta kernel. Might be unstable.

OK, got it all up and running. You should try out the new blue theme by JKay, under KitchenPro. The animations are sweet, and combined with the battery circle and the blue wallpaper, the phone has a crazy cool blue look.

The sound is like a desktop starting up, got even the sound of the hard drive and fans speeding up, then they go off later after the beeping sound.
