QUOTE(FcukChick @ Oct 23 2011, 11:34 AM) hi guys...im a sgs2 user here for 2 months. Please do add me to the list of family. Will get SGS3 because i am very much impress with this over HTC sensation which i almost bought it. hahaha... finally check in here la?Currently using Touch X-Power Rom on Siyah Kernel 2.1 beta 10. Anyone notice any huge difference between this Rom and the new Check Revolution Rom? Seems like Touch X-Power is no longer supported. Dont like using Rom without much support (a.k.a Litenin Rom) Feels like changing hehe but the Rom im using gives me great battery life even though i use my phone more than desktop. TXP still supported. Just recently released TXP XWKI8 together with the support of JKay's V12. Wait out for the XXKI4... |

QUOTE(FcukChick @ Oct 23 2011, 11:45 AM) TXP still supported? I'm using XWKI8 now but in Xda forum, everyone was saying bye bye to him because he is leaving the mod scene? You still have to wipe cache/dalvikWill be going to the CheckRom side once I saw a major update on CheckRom Revolution instead hehe but before I jump ship, just want to know from user experience here, is there any big difference in between this two ROM? Just a noob question, when they say it is a Non-Wipe (Check Revo XWKI4) does that mean I can install on top of my TXP (XWKI8) ROM or issit better for me to do a full wipe no matter what? Thanks full wipe/factory reset is not necessary downloading checkrom as we speak difference between them aren't much cause both still using 2.3.5.. of course there are some minor tweaks here and there... can check their changelogs.. checkrom using XXKI4. not XWKI4. |

QUOTE(antt00 @ Oct 23 2011, 12:59 PM) Well a nandroid backup is just a backup. Let say you try a new wipe rom and don't like it. So you want to revert back to your old rom, do you want to setup your old rom from scratch or restore from the nandroid backup. true... i know... Also, one day the rom you have been using and liking for weeks suddenly get FC and everything fail to work. (Shit happens). Do you want to start again from scratch or restore a backup you did a few days ago. Nandroid backup is a backup in case something goes wrong. Not for you to restore into new roms. what i meant was, you also recently made the switch eh? you wiped full? then set things back up all one by one? |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Oct 30 2011, 10:10 PM) To siyah kernel users, which governer are you using? I tried lulzactive and found it laggy with xscope. SmartassV2 seems to be the best fer me right now. You guys? QUOTE(FcukChick @ Oct 30 2011, 10:13 PM) Keep searching for explanation for governors such as ondemandx vs lulzactive vs smartassv2 I'm on smartassv2currently keep exchanging usage and found smartassv2 the best so far followed by ondemandx in terms of my own usage satisfaction (balance of performance and battery life).. what u guys think? There are threads telling what governing does. Basically it's the scaling of our CPU. What I know is in smartassv2, it scales to a 200 - 500Mhz when screen is off. Which means profile enabling does nothing cause it already changes profiles automatically. For ondemandx, didn't really try it cause smartassv2 gives very decent battery life already... plus the UV |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Oct 30 2011, 10:25 PM) Hmm, myself sticking with Smartassv2 for the smoothness. many have mentioned the issue of sleeping at 500Mhz and the phone reboots cause some apps do take more than 500Mhz while the phone is idle/screen off... Also RC3 is giving me reboots during calls that did not happen during RC2, so rolled back. I'm guessing enter sleep at 500mhz (which was changed in RC3) is still a tad wonky. A shame, because we still have bluetooth streaming while screen off issues with RC2. Oh well, at least everything is a lot better now compared to the pre ver 2 days, when things used to simply die on me without any possible cause. However, i'm hard pressed to find any such app that takes the full CPU speed when the phone is in such a state. Probably also multiple applications could be running/syncing/updating which then MIGHT be the cause of the need for such CPU power. However, I think even the default ondemand profile gives pretty decent battery life/performance already. I actually don't see much difference running smartassv2 and ondemand... after running maybe another week and if there isn't any difference, might switch back to ondemand |

Speaking of 500MHz, I did try using ondemand and going for own set up profiles with screen off running at 200-500. No reboots. I have most of the time data on and probably a few internet and social networking apps on... so.. wonder why it should reboot for others...
But I still also don't think we should set it as low as 500MHz though... 800 seems fair enough |
