HELP:

After I flashed my S2 with insecure kernel using Ordin, not the device won't boot up. It always showed the triangle mark, anyone experienced this?
*
and who the hell asked u to flash the insecure kernel? of course u have that yellow triangle, because insecure kernel is not signed from samsung.

if u are using i9100g, follow my pdf guide in my signature, the first page guide is outdated.

Bro creezalird, thinking of venturing into the realm of flashing now. What kernel would you recommend to be paired up with DJKJ2? I'm happy with the stock ROM,just need a boost in the battery department, lol.

Also, mind telling me your set up? Thankies bro!
*
i cant really recommend one, but some stable like superatmos 2.1 or even lucifr 1.22(i think), but safe case, use superatmos 2.1, tested and reliable so far.

and dont use KJ2, it is outdated, people nowadays are swearing with the german rom LA1.

see my guide as i updated it recently, with a cover page even..losl

The gps installed is a dedicated samsung app, app itself can be turned to english, map is in chinese, and it's a car gps like tomtom gps in europe ... So quite good indeed ...
I'll give a try to papago.
I guess that since my account sor samsung apps is chinese as well, maybe can try to do the switch. Have to find a few hours free to do the backup and everything.
Congratulations on your marriage Creezalird, i'm also married, but i have a 1 year old kid too, free time ? Can you remind me the meaning ? tongue.gif
And thanks for your answer by the way !
I'm the kind of guy to check/verify things a hundred times before making such changes tongue.gif
I'll double check this week on chinese forums to see what they say on that, there is a litle chance that the software might only be installed in factory, but not available on rom, that's why i was asking ...
Oh by the way, i tried something this evening, and it appears that it's nearly impossible to do, bluetooth modem doesn't work, apparently, Samsung don't give working drivers for that.
*
what did u tried? u didnt mentioned it clearly?
anyway, flashing rom is actually a very safe procedure considering u read and follow my guide properly smile.gif

I tried a simple pairing, but windows won't find the driver, i googled on that, problem appears to be old and unsolved. No bluetooth modem or sync through kies under Windows 7 64.

At the begining i used kies to transfert my phone contacts from my iphone to the galaxy s2.
I don't use it anymore, i sync my contacts with google.
Truth is an android phone don't need a computer at all, except for backups.
I tried the bluetooth connection within Kies, i was just curious to see it running, it doesn't ...
And tethering with bluetooth fail aswell, no bluetooth modem available, bluetooth networking, same result. Only thing you can do is.send or receive files.

LA1? Stock ROM? Can it be used with Malaysian devices? I know that it's a common misconception that other country's ROMs cant be flashed to asean devices,is this true?

Can the LA1 ROM be rooted using Doomlord's method? Thanks bro! smile.gif

Edit:Bro,googled LA1 ROM,but it seems that it's a Galaxy Note firmware,lol. laugh.gif

After successfully rooted with doomlord.. I found that the battery drain REALLY fast!!. I dono is it becos of the root, or is the go launchers apps that i downloaded.

this morning 8am charged 100%, now at 10am (didn't even use the phone, only on bluetooth when driving to work), the battery now left 50%!! no data, no gps, nothing!!

anybody facing this problem?

Ouch, walked right into that one. sweat.gif

Wow,just realized that you've update your guide, looking sleek and nice man!

Well,I would try flashing using phone,if only I have money to buy Mobile Odin Pro. Using Everrot enables root even after flashing right? Well, too bad I don't have any means to get Pro Odin. sweat.gif

glad it helped u...
which method are u using for battery calibration? because there are some debates saying that sgs2 variants need no oldschool battery calibration like htc or others as sgs2 has a built in battery calibration circuit.

why dont u try galaxyrom 4.1? u need to ask from the fb group link from my pdf

normally i just use mine normally and after 2-3 days it will behave again normally.
*
yeah i just thought no harm in doing it.hehe i used 2 methods.

switched off phone and full charge. remove battery 180secs. and put it back in switch on.

and also using the batterycalliberation app.

didnt notice any changes after doing it.

will need to google on that rom bro, cause im still new to all this and it seems rooting is just the beginning.

now im reading on this thunderbolt script..and try to learn more and more

I would like to add something that apparently no one think about and it's because of this reasoning that i found the trick about memory usage for the doomlord method. Before complaining about battery drain, you guys should take a look at your standard use memory usage, each widget launch a background process that eats memory, and this can go quite high, for now i'm still running zcki1, okd stock rom, but i keep my phone under control, only a few usefull widgets, and i try to keep a memory usage under 400mb. The more memory it uses, the less battery will last.
I tried some memory managers, but gingerbread memory management doesn't really need those, i simply kill process that i do not beed when i start the phone. This way i am able to stay up to 2 days without the need to recharge. Creezalird and other experienced guys might confirm, but i am really doubtfull that a different kernel changes anything on that, in my opinion, everything on battery life is tied to what process you actually do run ... Different kernel can change the way memory manager handles process memory usage, but not how many process you run. That's just my 2 cents, but i feel that's kind of wrong to put the fault on a kernel for a battery "drain".

kernel also can introduce much2 better governor, for example, default hotplug in LA1 is much battery friendly compared to in KJ2. maybe it is because of "Made in Germany" lols..

too many possibilities, either u have not clear everything properly after flashed before, or u are running too many apps, and lastly, u are too anxious of knowing the battery life and without u knew, u are unlocking the screen for about every 10-20min. it happened okay, and we dont even notice it. smile.gif

lastly, give it a day or two, sometimes the battery calibration is still in process after u flashed new rom

rooting process will not introduce battery drain. it is the apps that u installed afterwards could introduce battery drain.

actually the method 180sec might work as it is mentioned to be useful for sgs2.

and once i read, but forgot already, there is actually a way to calibrate by deleting a file but i forgot which file, it is not the batterystats.bin, this one usually for htc phones or older samsung.

keep on learning man, maybe u can become the next dev for i9100g, we are really2 lacking of dev here. smile.gif

i am not sure about chinese character, maybe yes, as it is europe version and as far as i see from system, not dedicated keyboard apk for chinese. but i think u can easily extract keyboard apk from any asian rom and use it, but character support, maybe not so easy..

i just checked, no chinese support , only korean, russian, english bla bla..

hi creezalird,

I downloaded your pdf and now thinking to flash it with Superatmos.

one question, I rooted with doomLord previously and my phone is KJ2. In the XDA forum for Superatmos, there are two download link,

v2.2: BASED ON JPKK1
v2.1: BASED ON DZKL3

Can I use v2.1, which is based on DZKL3 is it compatible with my phone which is in DZKJ2?
