if u already flashed DZKL3 rom, so u should already have the rom in hand.

Bro creezalird, have some question for you, would be glad if you can answer them, thanks!

The latest firmware version is DJKJ2 right? You use stock ROM or any other cooks? Any problem with SG S 2 G ver. using the stock ROM? Thanks!

For Malaysian's GS2? Really? I thought KJ indicates Malaysian and Singaporean phone only. Can someone clarify this?

latest one for malaysia i9100g is DZKL3. but so far this rom cant be rooted using doomlord zergrush, can only be rooted using flashing rooted kernel via odin.

i am using my own modified stock rom KJ2 for the moment, kind of busy to upgrade, maybe this weekend.

so far nothing biggie with KJ2. i am happy smile.gif

u can use tools from here to check update availability for every country
checkfus downloader

even can download the rom directly

Thanks bro! Reason I'm asking is I'm gonna get my SG S2 today, from Digi. Gonna buy it,with the plan. All of the SG S2 phone Digi have is G version, only, right?

as far as i know, nowadays in malaysia, almost all shops are selling the G version, u can only get non G thru AP set or second hand.
*
Well,I've been holding out long enough, gotta get the phone now,no matter what, lol. biggrin.gif

It's safe to assume that you're using G version too, right?

BTW,what's the advantage of using KL3 as opposed to KJ2? Any changelog I can see?

u have made the right assumption, of coz i am using G version too..lols, i even made a comprehensive guide for it..lols

not differs too much, both are still 2.3.6, only small minor bugfixes.

for easy rooting without voiding warranty, upgrade to KJ2. because KL3 cant be rooted with doomlord (refer my guide)

Haha, was just checking bro. Also, thanks for the great guide bro, real informative and easy to grasp, even for newb like me,haha. really appreciate the hardwork you've done to make that guide.

Also, call me paranoid, but have I seen you around xda forum? Could've sworn I saw someone with your nick on xda.

So I wasn't imagining things, haha! Thanks bro, will check it out later. Also, have some question. Is your edited runme.bat the same with the runme.bat that is edited in this thread? Also,in your opinion, will there be a way to root KL3 using zergrush method, doomlord way that is? Will it be updated to root KL3? First time in the rooting scene,so newb, haha. sweat.gif

it is ok to be noob as long as u have the intention to read and google around. smile.gif
it is the same actually, but some people just dont want to read, so i made it edited for noob-proof..lols
i have also add some logging command but it is not so important.

so far the bug is already patched, highly probably we need to wait for new bugs to appear. lols

if u are keeping the warranty, just flash KJ2 and use doomlord method to root.
after u have the CWM, u can flash custom rom from others.

but like me, i am sticking with my own modded stock. much better tongue.gif
*
Yupe,I agree 100% with you bro. I always stick to my stock ROM,but mod it to freeze certain apps that I dont need that are always running in the background, would always get better battery life after that. Am currently using Optimus Black. A great phone, just needed to feed my gear acquisition syndrome, hence, buying SG S2.

Never flashed custom ROM though, scared that it might mess up my phone. I just root my phone, freeze unwanted apps, and that's it. Although, getting SG S2,might venture to the realm of custom kernel now,if I'm brave enough, that is,haha! tongue.gif

Hiya there bros. So here's the thing,I just got my SG S2G yesterday, and I noticed that the battery is majorly uneven. Yesterday, before I slept,I noticed that battery was at 30%,fast forward 8 hours, the battery was still at 30%. Just now I charged it to 100%,but after I think 5 to 10 minutes,I left it idle, battery has been decreased as much as 2%. Anybody knows why? I mean,it's the same idle condition as when I was sleeping. Thanks for any input bros!

Bros, anybody knows what stock ROM apps I can freeze without causing damage to the phone? So far,I think the only one I can think of,rationally is Game hub. Thanks!

nope.cause the kernel name normally do not contain the name of the rom. what u see KJ2 is the rom name. not kernel. and that is normal considering u are running KJ2 rom with KL3 kernel

Added on February 5, 2012, 6:25 pm
actually u can just google around for the list. many forum already discussed about this. some of them are quite detail with explaination for every APK

Hey bros, this might seem monotonous,as I like asking question,,google doesn't seem to have it,but according to my task manager,Email and Messaging would always pop back up even if I kill them again and again. I'm not hesitant in freezing Email.apk but not Messaging.apk. What's with the Messaging process? Is it the stock app or like the system process or something? Thanks!

actually u can find the answer just by googling..but anyway..messaging is running so that u can receive sms..lols
*
Yeah bro, just like I said,I googled it,took your advice beforehand, you said that it's okay being a noob,as long as willing to search and put some effort. Well,as a result,I got answer that is different from yours. Some of the people on,if im not mistaken,Samsung Galaxy S forum, said that the Messaging.apk was referring to the stock sms app. As you can see, glad I asked here, always a better to ask from the phone otai, haha. laugh.gif

yep, different? didnt i said it for receiving sms..but if u have another one like go sms or handcent, u can totally remove it with TB. But any sms app will be running on background to ensure no sms loss.

anyway..glad it helped smile.gif
*
Ouh,I think I misunderstood you bro. Thought you said that it was like a stock system as opposed to a stock app. Yupe,I sure am using go sms, much more smooth and more flexible. Thanks bro!

Thanks again bro creezalird, without your guide, would never have rooten my phone. icon_rolleyes.gif laugh.gif

Bro,can you share with us your custom ROM modification? brows.gif

And,by modifying the stock ROM,what do you mean exactly? What changes did you made? Thanks!

Bro creezalird, thinking of venturing into the realm of flashing now. What kernel would you recommend to be paired up with DJKJ2? I'm happy with the stock ROM,just need a boost in the battery department, lol.

Also, mind telling me your set up? Thankies bro!
