I'm not sure if you can use a MiFi on the router and after all you don't need a MiFi when you have this router.
It is a flexible router and accepts all types of modems, I used E1762, E353, E367 and now using E372. Those are ll Huawei modems. smile.gif

For best bang of bucks, Huawei E367 is a good investment. smile.gif

Have you considered putting your AP across from the five buildings so that you blast the signal through the front of the buildings?
You also want QOS so that the user with the strongest signal don't suck up all the bandwidth.
*
i thought of that before, but i only want to establish this wifi temporarily, about 1 year, and my current budget is the biggest limitation besides technical problems of installing those APs in different buildings.

just want to confirm, i guess is that even the strongest amplifiers will only work in line of sight, and might not work when been blocked with various obstacles (walls, furnitures, glass windows, etc), right?

guys, i need some advice.
i just got this TL-MR3420 last week.
i use huawei E367 to connect with this router, success.
but, my internet speed drop. tested on speedtest.net, i can only get 900kbps. ping also increase.
normally without using this router, my speed can easily reach 8mbps.
my i didn't move my modem as i using an external usb cable to connect to router & pc.
why would this problem happen? or there's any setting that i missed?
*
my 3220 having the same problem too, latency ok but speed just drops about 2/3 compare to usb modem on laptop. flash to newer firmware doesn't help either. hmm.gif

i too have a MR3220 but its the "old" modem that only support till 3.75G, Single antenna, this is 4G, newer model, i believe its not available here yet

4G LTE or 4G WiMAX ?
4G LTE should be no problem. Same qualcomm chipset, same modem company.
4G WiMAX is difference story. chipset from intel or samsung.

can, I tried it with a 5meter USB2.0 cable and a 3meter USB3.0 cable before

try to buy USB3.0 cable as it provide more electric current and faster data transfer.... icon_idea.gif

with the USB3.0 cable, i can connect it directly to my mr3420 to get better reception on my E372...

Yup its still limited to the port actual the length of the cable make the variance. try same length cable to judge it correctly. sweat.gif

Yup!

And as @febreze2xxx said, use same length cable to compare.

the higher you extend the modem or the further away you extend the modem from your window, gets you the better signal but bear in mind also the loss in signal due to the length of the cable too and USB3.0 cable will be able to minimise this as it have faster data transfer, even though your USB port is only V2.0, but if you hav V3.0 port, the better la........
