QUOTE(chulk @ Nov 5 2012, 06:24 PM) is freaking noisy and i wonder "does my modem need that?" yes very noisy and have to clean the dust on the modem and router every week. if not the dust will be very2 thick....i rent a newly built house, so there is so much dust in the house...even after living for more that 5 months.....and i really worry modem will catch cold or fever blowing by this 24 hours a day. by the way, what you use to hang the modem? nail? hanger? i dont hang the modem in anyway....i just plug it in to the router directly, the router i drill two holes and put it two screws and hang the router there. just like hanging a picture frame.... the result of connecting the modem straight to the router vs using usb cable is very2 significant.....now ping stable and got better upload speed, i guess download speed is just limited by my tower....huuuu Added on November 6, 2012, 4:38 pmhey i tried to check for my signal on openwrt but this came up, any solution? root@OpenWrt:~# gcom sig /etc/ttyUSB2 Trying list of devices comgt 08:38:09 -> -- Error Report -- comgt 08:38:09 -> ----> ^ comgt 08:38:09 -> Error @133, line 8, Could not write to COM device. anyone knows how to open the case of MR3420? I plan to modify the white color case by cutting some holes and attach cooling fans (1 fan blow in + 1 fan blow out) on it.
