Honestly the N9 is faster than my N8 for GPS locking, but only if I enable data & I'm outside.

I'm still in my office, just tried turning off all internet on my N9, tested with gpsmeefo, surprisingly I can still get GPS lock within seconds. thumbup.gif

There is one advantage I noticed on N9 GPS unit. It caches your last known coordinates so maybe that's why it can still lock so fast in my case. On my N8, I can't lock onto GPS with GPSInfoQT when I turn all internet off.

The A-GPS can use either wi-fi or mobile data to help you get a lock indoors faster. Just make sure A-GPS is turned on.

I'm just sad of my N9 internal gps isn't any better than my N8 sad.gif

Off topic, I wonder why N9 cannot find location by using wifi only , like android and PC

speaking about the gps unit of N9, i found that it easily loses sign quit frequently ever since my PR1.1 update, it losses signal too easily while my drive down to kl and it regains signal once i stop navigation and let the drive app sits idly.

That is very weird. I never have any problem with GPS yet. Everything is working fine.

It's not my experience. No change in gps signal retention after upgrading to PR1.1.

I'm really amazed today because when I plugged in my n9 to my tv , the pictures become very big and clear than the iPhone one . Most of my brothers use iPhone .

Well today I'm taking my N8 and N9 to go for versus in Nokia Drive..

surprisingly both locks my position at the same time, and same time too indoor doh.gif

maybe yesterday there is GPS signal issue around my area hmm.gif

conclusion ... I can safely say N9 gps deliver the same experience as with my N8 biggrin.gif

gps signal reception in indoor setting is pretty much a hit and miss afaik (if my professor didn't just simply tok crap)

anyway, my sis just got back her n9, got the logic board replaced with some accessories, NCC claimed to have replaced her USB door but it looks like it is not new lo~ tongue.gif

when asked about the possibilities of requesting a replacement should the same problem occurs again, the reply was ---- call nokia care line lol
