QUOTE(pikacu @ Feb 17 2012, 11:33 AM) oh, psm for gps right? It should not affect since I have it enabled for Nokia Drive also. I did notice it's very very slow to get GPS lock if you do not enable 'Mobile data connection' under GPS settings.i think i do got it enable, letme disable it and see the improvement EDIT : the GPS psm only for nokia drive, it will affect nokia Maps too? |

Honestly the N9 is faster than my N8 for GPS locking, but only if I enable data & I'm outside.

I'm still in my office, just tried turning off all internet on my N9, tested with gpsmeefo, surprisingly I can still get GPS lock within seconds.
There is one advantage I noticed on N9 GPS unit. It caches your last known coordinates so maybe that's why it can still lock so fast in my case. On my N8, I can't lock onto GPS with GPSInfoQT when I turn all internet off. |

QUOTE(pikacu @ Feb 18 2012, 07:46 PM) Well today I'm taking my N8 and N9 to go for versus in Nokia Drive.. Sorry didn't have time to check my N8 & N9 indoor GPS more but glad to know that you're having no issues now. Anyway as someone has mentioned, GPS doesn't actually work indoors, it depends on cell tower triangulation & WIFI location data to guess where you are. So it can be a very hit & miss thing depending on where you are. Sometimes I can get a good location within few hundred metres when indoors but I've actually seen a few places where I can be detected as being in China instead. WIFI location going sot I guess. surprisingly both locks my position at the same time, and same time too indoor maybe yesterday there is GPS signal issue around my area conclusion ... I can safely say N9 gps deliver the same experience as with my N8 QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Feb 18 2012, 09:43 PM) After mess with the Nokia Lumia 800 i have to say the NokiaLumia 800 Camera Pawns the Nokia N9 even with the same hardware camera http://www.flickr.com/photos/thenokiagalle...9608885/detail/ |
