haih..poor maxtor...but their hdd is good wut.. mine 20gb still holding more than 5 years... but seagate ade more than 10 years 10gb

i think seagate take over the maxtor will make it better because i think the people working in maxtor can wake up and start do their work.

hi ppl, i ned recommendation for an external HDD casing and external HDD for a notebook..i think i'll get a WD HDD but abt the casing,I'm not sure..wat's a good brand? I've noticed on the pricelist's that they group external HDD in 2 categories-Combo & USB, wat's the difference?
If i'm asking in the wrong section,plz point me to the right direction..thanks for the help

hi ppl... my old seagate 20g harddisk just dead.. i found some weird sound when i start up the computer.. it was like the disk spinning inside was hitting something.
pc cannot detect harddisk some times. even if the bios detected, it will automatically restart when i try to enter the windows.
so here is my problems now. i will buy a new harddisk tomorrow. the TARGET i aimed is 80GBs with MAXTOR or WESTERN DIGITAL. i want to copy some important files from my previous harddisk.. (i think the files stll not corrupted) is it better for me to buy a SATA harddisk? will my motherboard supports 2 harddisk simultenously? (both IDE and SATA).
pls help me... and thx in advance!!

i bought my external HDD a months ago..60GB seagate momentus 5400..how ever, after i used it for i found that my total capacity including used and free disc spaces left only 55.87 GB..is this normal or there is something wrong with my HDD?
