I have tried WD, Seagate, Quantum, Maxtor. Never had a faulty drive before. I guess 90% of the time it depends on how u handle your disk to ensure they work nicely

QUOTE(icycokes @ Jun 4 2006, 08:18 PM) hi ppl... my old seagate 20g harddisk just dead.. i found some weird sound when i start up the computer.. it was like the disk spinning inside was hitting something. I wonder whether your BIOS will be able to detect the new 80GB hdd that you are about to purchase.pc cannot detect harddisk some times. even if the bios detected, it will automatically restart when i try to enter the windows. so here is my problems now. i will buy a new harddisk tomorrow. the TARGET i aimed is 80GBs with MAXTOR or WESTERN DIGITAL. i want to copy some important files from my previous harddisk.. (i think the files stll not corrupted) is it better for me to buy a SATA harddisk? will my motherboard supports 2 harddisk simultenously? (both IDE and SATA). pls help me... and thx in advance!! |

Anyone has comments on placing the HDD vertically or horizontally inside the casing? Will placing vertically has negative effect as compared to horizontal?
