I second that ... I sent my HDD for RMA in Seagate Singapore and I got the stuff back in a week time. Item is well packed when received .... of course you need to follow the packaging instructions before you send out the HDD.

actual in windows =display hdsk cap x 1000 x 1000 x 1000 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024

ex : 500gb x1000x1000x1000/1024/1024/1024 = 465gb.

what formula is that? why must time 1000 and divide with 1024?
that means the bigger the capacity, the more space missing..

no lar...ur space still there.not lost at all.just the different between decimal n binary reading.
hardisk read in decimal Gb n software uses binary..
so when u read from hdsk,it will state 500gb,instead in windows...software will detect it slightly lower because of this different reading.

decimal n binary rules

missing Gb

The fastest 1TB harddrive is actually the Samsung Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ.
Now I know there's gonna be some skepticism, so look below.
These benchmarks show it beating the 3 major competing models from Seagate, WD, and Hitachi (formerly IBM).

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/samsun...ng,1730-11.html
http://www.storagereview.com/php/benchmark..._3=354&devCnt=4

This link is to Storage Review's database.
http://www.storagereview.com/Testbed4Compare.sr

These benchmarks show the Samsung regularly performing at the top of its class.
In some benches and games it even beats the Raptor X 150GB. Only the VelociRaptor and SCSI/SAS/FC 15k drives are faster.
