QUOTE(vearn27 @ Apr 15 2008, 04:36 AM) Currently I'm on Seagate's 7200.11 500GB 32MB SATAII HDD. I did swapped for an exchange unit within the first two weeks of usage due to some problem which I couldn't format the HDD anymore. Neither with Windows nor Format Utility with Windows BootDisk also failed . My currently unit work fine and some of the faulty problem may due to my SATA cable. I swapped with another cable thou and it runs pretty fine now. Frankly speaking, Samsung's HDDs do make me feel quite promising with it. Lower power consumption thus lower operating heat and noise. Some said performance wise only average, but that wouldn't be visible till we see the numbers on benchies I suppose. My 120GB Samsung Spinpoint SATA HDD still serve me very well till today ok.tQ for sharing ur xp.i think i will grab samsung.thanks all

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Apr 15 2008, 10:08 AM) Which shop / booth was this that was selling the Samsung 1TB? How much were they selling? Thanks. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Added on April 15, 2008, 10:22 amSome of my "older" benchies with 2 x 750GB HD753LJ 32MB cache RAID 0 array. The 750GB uses the "older" 250GB per platter and not the 334GB per platter found on the 1TB version. RAID 0 - HD Tach Long Bench (128KB stripe) RAID 0 - HD Tach Short Bench (128KB stripe) RAID 0 HD Tune (128KB stripe) Some comparisons against my 2 x WD3200AAKS (not the new 00B3A0 single platter version) in RAID 0 array RAID 0 - HD Tach Long Bench (128KB stripe) RAID 0 - HD Tach Short Bench (128KB stripe) RAID 0 HD Tune (128KB stripe) will let u know tomolo..if it still in d intel bag..

QUOTE(adriel_heresy @ May 5 2008, 09:57 AM) Seagate Barracuda (ST3750330AS) 3.5" 750GB SATA2 32MB Cache have anyone use this hardisk before? what do you guy think about it? actually i was thinking about buying this since my previous hardisk crasshed and need a new one. i only used Seagate Barracuda 500GB SATA2 32MB now...it comes wif 5yrs warranty.transfer big file can reach 67.5-70Mbps.dat one last attemp i transfer big file(bout 80-110GB).if transfer small size,i think normal,or i just no mentioned maybe.i think same theory applied for 750GB right.cause got more buffer.so far so good..serve me pretty well.temp not monitor. sorry, noob question.if i use RAID0 compared wif sata 32mb,which one gud for performance and rawly calculated, by how much percent?

QUOTE(Kataro @ Jun 9 2008, 10:58 AM) SonicGear now have psu also? just know that... btw, as I cannot find the info for your psu, I can't really tell you whether your psu can support for your spec...so based on the limited info acquired, I can only recommend you to take true power psu with 450W to 500W psu as I suggest before...for your hardware safety...and for future upgrade too... yeah...i'm suprised too.haha.. prelude23,300watt?get new psu...u need to upgrade ur psu sooner or later.

QUOTE(geniousboy @ Jul 26 2008, 11:07 AM) just bought WD 500gb AACS for rm245. but the space available is only 465gb... i wonder where's another 35gb? that's quite a lot missing rite? or is it normal? actual in windows =display hdsk cap x 1000 x 1000 x 1000 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024 ex : 500gb x1000x1000x1000/1024/1024/1024 = 465gb. QUOTE(geniousboy @ Jul 27 2008, 08:07 AM) what formula is that? why must time 1000 and divide with 1024? that means the bigger the capacity, the more space missing.. no lar...ur space still there.not lost at all.just the different between decimal n binary reading. hardisk read in decimal Gb n software uses binary.. so when u read from hdsk,it will state 500gb,instead in windows...software will detect it slightly lower because of this different reading. decimal n binary rulesmissing Gb
