QUOTE(Denis @ Nov 22 2011, 04:10 PM) Do Maybank credit card and Amex(Maybank)card provide SMS alert facilities? Thank in advance. I am guessing what you meant is that you want to receive an SMS whenever the card is used? Not currently though I believe by law they have to implement it by 2015 i think (or was it 2012)... QUOTE(carlitofreak @ Nov 22 2011, 04:08 PM) If I already have an OCBC Titanium Card (which I applied using FD a year ago) with a credit limit of RM5000, will i be able to apply for this Maybank 2 card by just using my OCBC card?
My payment record for my OCBC all this while quite good which mean no delay in payment and always on time.
Any advice? No. You can't because this is a secured credit card and Maybank will find out through CCRIS. Besides, Maybank has stopped accepting fresh credit card application simply by attaching your existing credit card from another bank that you've been using for more than 12-month as reference for a few months already. QUOTE(Gen-X @ Nov 22 2011, 08:38 PM) why I never received sms from OCBC when I transact with it? Me too!

My payment record for my OCBC all this while quite good which mean no delay in payment and always on time. Any advice? Do you have any accounts with Maybank? Salary account/car loans, etc? My sister was just planning to apply for MBB2 Amex when she got a call saying that she got pre-approved for it. She only needed to agree, so she said yes. She already has an existing car loan with them. A few days later, the cards appeared in M2U. This post has been edited by spikey2506: Nov 22 2011, 10:47 PM

One has Maybankard 2 Platinum with cl of RM 15k. If you had read a previous post, some one reported his CL for MBB 2 gold card was RM2K. But that was previously when one only needs RM18K to get a CC. Nowadays MBB minimum requirement for CC starts at RM30K.

I thought Maybank's minimum requirement to get its entry level credit card was always 30k per annum unlike other banks' which used to be at 18k - 24k pa?

Prior to BNM ruling, one could still get a CC from MBB when they earn less than RM24K. QUOTE(mrul @ Nov 23 2011, 08:59 AM) wow Gen-X...read ur blog n it's great...really good sharing...keep it up! QUOTE(Gen-X @ Nov 22 2011, 04:23 PM) What do you mean by sms alert. If you are referring to BNM requirement, all credit card issuers are to notify cardholders whenever a transactions is made with their cards effective 1st January 2012. Click here to read my article on Fraudulent charges and SMS Notification. In this article I have many links on the SMS alert thingy and BNM Press Release statement. It seems that we can set the limit for issuers to sent the sms. MBB also have been sending out notice to cardholders to update their contact numbers. My wife and son (supp card holder) received the notice but not me. QUOTE(zenquix @ Nov 22 2011, 04:23 PM) I am guessing what you meant is that you want to receive an SMS whenever the card is used? BTW, I get my SCB credit card centre SMS alert notification for every transaction above RM 500 usage but not for MBB.

Just like what chem mentioned, I guess SCB has started the sms notifications. But RM500 is too high in my opinion. Maybe that's why most of the scams reported are for transactions amounting to RM499.
