I logged in to HL Connect, which told me that my HLB debit card expires on 04/24.
1) Can I still use this card for ATM withdrawal after it expires? I never use any debit card for physical swipes. 2) If I renew the card, during the renewal process (waiting for delivery), will it affect my online banking? 3) If it states 04/24, it will expire only on 30.04.24, correct? Thanks. |

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Mar 26 2024, 11:02 AM) 1) no experience Got it. Maybe I will renew later because travelling soon, and maybe will try to withdraw money at the ATM to see if it still works later. 2) shouldnt impact online banking; as new card already created and re-linked to your online banking. just physically not reached you yet. 3) yes, card expiry doesnt follow exact date. just month/year. so, any days in Apr will still be valid. |

QUOTE(adibyusoff @ Apr 1 2024, 01:44 PM) Hi and good day, sifu. Why not use UK Credit/Debit card?1. Annual Income: RM180K and above 2. Free Lifetime Annual Fee: A Must (can call request for waive) 3. Card required for: Overseas Transactions 4. Existing credit cards (if any): UOB Visa Infinite & Ambank Visa Infinite. Currently heavy usage for all oversea transaction with UOB Visa Infinite. Example transaction; 252gbp on 17th march 2024 translated to 1548.38myr. Almost 2.6% extra from market rate have to be paid for the transaction. Haven't used the ambank card yet. 5. Interested in CC from: anything as long as the best in terms of rate(1st) / rewards / points for oversea transactions. 6. Others: i work in london, paid in myr. Would be relying heavily on the credit card for daily use in london. If the fund is from Malaysia, it is cheaper to transfer RM to your UK bank account with Wise App. Then spend £ with UK card. Also It is cheaper to use Debit card for foreign transactions, you may consider Wise Card (Malaysia), TNG E-wallet debit card etc. This post has been edited by ClarenceT: Apr 1 2024, 02:00 PM |

QUOTE(ClarenceT @ Apr 1 2024, 02:00 PM) Why not use UK Credit/Debit card? Yes. Still using wise if i want to have gbp then transferred to my monzo account for gbp usage. That one's for cash only. But I'm not really into transferring here and there with the wise account. Prefer credit card as it's more hassle free plus security plus i kind of like with the 8x points. Been accumulating more than 500k points for several months of usage now.If the fund is from Malaysia, it is cheaper to transfer RM to your UK bank account with Wise App. Then spend £ with UK card. Also It is cheaper to use Debit card for foreign transactions, you may consider Wise Card (Malaysia), TNG E-wallet debit card etc. Any better Cc option for foreign use?
