Agree that the transaction description need improvement
Agree that the customer service is bad (most local bank are bad, not just CIMB) But for the online statement, I am previously worked in doing Internet Banking system. Most if not all of the online banking system will not reflect your transaction immediately, as the internet banking system is a separate system from their core/card system. But it is not normal for them to take that long to post your transaction during a non weekend/holiday transaction date. Normally, it take most 2 days during weekdays. I think this include Maybank as well. |

QUOTE(sjz @ Jun 20 2012, 09:19 AM) But i found out that carrefour over charge some item i bought after the cashier insert the card into the machine. So i ask the cashier to remove the card from the machine without the approval slip being printed. And after that i use another card to pay for the transaction because my CIMB Debit card had insufficient balance. (I have not much amount left after swiping that transaction) But after that i found out that my available balance in CIMB account has been deducted by that amount of transaction. Called Carrefour and Carrefour call their merchant banker and denied they charge my card. Carrefour got ur money. "Called CIMB, they in a tidak-apa manner told me if the transaction did not go thru, they will still HOLD the amount which will be refunded to me after 14 working days..." If the transaction did not go thru...but it has..u should ask for the statement i think. |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jun 18 2012, 04:57 PM) Bro, I just went in and said I want open Day to Day account Thanks. Might do the same too next time i go to Australia and will use my cousin's home address as my correspondence address By the way, when you have opened a HSBC Premier account here in Malaysia and successfully set up your HSBC Australia Premier account, try to transfer your money from HSBC Malaysia to HSBC Australia through Global Transfer and see how's the exchange rate like. The limit for HSBC Premier Global Transfer is USD100,000/day. This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Jun 20 2012, 02:31 PM |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jun 20 2012, 03:31 PM) I was informed that you don't. And this HSBC Global Transfer is instant too. The only catch is that it must be done during banking hours (both countries). Otherwise your money will only be credited the next banking day. Take Singapore for example. Let say you want to transfer your money from HSBC Malaysia to HSBC Singapore and need to money to be credited right away into your HSBC Singapore account, you have to make sure it is not a public holiday in either country and it is not yet passed the banking hours (say 9.30am - 4pm). 9.30am - 4pm is the banking hours for HSBC in Malaysia. Banking hours for HSBC Singapore is 9.30am - 3.30pm every weekdays, if my memory serves me correctly. HSBC Premier has a preferential rate and you won't be able to see this in their online banking system. Rest assured that the final exchange rate will be a bit better than the rate quoted to you on their online banking system This post has been edited by MilesAndMore: Jun 20 2012, 04:57 PM |

Hi there, I have a question regarding my Maybank Visa Debit Card (the one with the picture of Cherry on it)
Thank god, I got my card on June 20th. And I registered my TAC on June 21st at the same branch. No problem, then I called Maybank CS on June 21st to ensure that both TAC and MSOS activated so I can shop online now. Ohh before that, soon after I got my card on June 20th, I used the card to verify my paper which is a success and I received the 4-digit expuse code on June 21st, early in the morning. When I do some readings on the internet, I read about this thing : "Verified by Visa". So, I tested my Maybank Visa Debit Card number on it, but the result is "Your card is not eligible, please contact ...... bla bla bla". Here : CODE https://verified.visa.com/aam/data/default/landing.aam Both of 'em (TAC and MSOS) activated, so what's the problem now? Should I contact Maybank CS and asking about this "verified by visa" thingy. Before that, I also read about Public Bank Day2Day Visa Debit Card and how to make sure it is "verified by visa" by vising these URLs CODE http://www.pbebank.com/en/en_content/faq/faq_vbv.html http://www.pbebank.com/en/en_content/personal/cards/vbvmc.html Some of forumers (or.. should I type "most of forumers" too) wrote positive feedbacks about their service and so on. Hence, what are the differences between PB D2D Visa Debit Card and PB Visa Electorn card ..? By the way, thanks for everything and all for the helps |

QUOTE(VilaFrantez @ Jun 23 2012, 11:52 PM) Bro, go lah to PBB website to read more on the products and T&C. Basically difference between PBB Electron and D2D is the cash back. And D2D card is linked to savings or current account whereas Electron you can treat it like a Prepaid card.As for MBB, if you really got issues using the card, then call MBB lah. |

Thanks RHB Cash Connect VISA debit card = issued by RHB BankRHB Cash-i VISA debit card = issued by RHB Islamic Bank Basically, RHB Cash-i VISA debit card is linked to your Islamic Savings or Current Account at RHB Islamic Bank and it is a shariah compliant product. As it is a shariah compliant product, you may encounter some problems such as card being rejected by the system when you use it at some non-Halal places. |

Hi guys. Just got my first Debit Card around a month ago. It's a CIMB one with the Mastercard logo. Now, as you can tell by the second sentence, I am VERY new to all this. So my question is, how do I make my card usable for online transactions? More specifically, I'm trying to link my card to my Paypal account.
I assume when you make your card usable for online purchases, you can also use it for Paypal. I also something about TAC and MSOS relating to online purchases, but not quite sure what they are. Thanks in advance guys |

Hi, sifus,
I am interested in online purchase from oversea merchants (e.g. ebooks, Google Play apps). Therefore, I need a debit / credit card for such transactions. 1) What do I need to take into account when choosing the debit card? 2) May I know what are the differences between the Maybank Cherry VISA debit card and the Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card? What are the pros and cons (if any) of these debit cards? Thanks in advance for reading my noob questions. Cheers. This post has been edited by LS Lim: Jul 1 2012, 02:23 PM |

I suggest you look into Public Bank Visa Electron Card for online transactions (actually they have so many type of debit cards where some are free if not mistaken). No need open savings account. Treat it like a Prepaid card where you deposit cash into the account thru any PBB CDM. However there is a yearly annual fee. And I believe PBB Visa Electron cash back % is better than D2D for online/general transactions. PBB card are not issued on the spot and can take up to two week before you get that card and the pin number separately by mail. |
