Yes. It is true that the new CIMB debit MasterCard linked either to your savings or current account cannot be used online.

Guys, can I use my Public Bank Day2Day Debit card after 12am?
I am planning to use it on an upcoming oversea sales.

I would like to make a new debit card to be used to top up paypal and to purchase online. Is there any charges using debit card impose by the bank for topping up to paypal account and for any online transactions ? Which bank is best for debit card. I'm using al-rajhi and cimb. I kinda frustated with both of them as al-rajhi can't be used to verify paypal and cimb visa card cannot perform online transaction.

Just the usual 0.5% - 2.5% admin charge for all overseas transaction. Your current debit/credit card is charged the same thing too.


- Maybank Cherry VISA debit card
- Maybank Manchester United VISA debit card
- Public Bank Day2Day VISA debit card
- Public Bank ESSO Visa debit card

If you currently have a Maybank savings or current account but is using the yellow ATM card, you can just change your current yellow ATM card to the Maybank Cherry VISA debit card or Maybank Manchester United VISA debit card. There is a one-time charge of RM12 for the switch.

Alternatively, you can open a Public Bank savings account and they will issue you a Day2Day VISA debit card on the spot. Or you can apply for the Public Bank ESSO VISA debit card at any Public Bank branch and this PBB ESSO VISA debit card doesn't have annual fee and you have to wait 2-3 weeks before you get the card.

If you are pumping ESSO/ mobile then it will PBB ESSO MOBILE debit card... If you are pumping other petrol station then it will be PBB D2D....

Alliance premium debit 2%rebates on all transactions limit 9000rm per month.
Alliance platinum debit 1.5% rebates on all transactions limit 6000rm per month.
But cannot use for online transactions.

alliance basic debit only 1% ...
for the platinum it required rm20k banking in acc

only 1% for normal card still better than rebate nothing if pay cash.

Hey guys, need some help on UOB Debit Mastercard question.

Say if I want to purchase something using the debit card, does it have a limit per transaction or any amount is permitted as long as you have enough balance? When I called the Call Center and asked (twice), one said it follows your ATM withdrawal limit (which is RM1k iirc), and the other one said any amount is fine as long as you have sufficient balance. So...which one is right now?

In this context, international banks' ATM refer to the ATM at overseas OR foreign banks' ATM (HSBC, SCB, Citi, etc) in Malaysia?

If I use my Cherry Debit card to withdraw money from ATM belonging to a foreign bank, at overseas, how would the foreign exchange rate be calculated, similar to credit card? and plus the RM12 withdrawal charge?

I have applied for Public bank debit card and got it already after all of your recommendations. I have verified paypal using the day2go card and it charged rm 10. When I login to PB online banking, it doesn't show there. How to find the code to verify our paypal account ?

You probably have to wait a few days until the transaction is posted into your account.

MBB MY VISA debit card is definitely better. For instance, you get 1TP for every RM2 spent on the MBB MU VISA debit card whereas MBB Cherry VISA debit card gives you only 1TP for every RM3 charged to the card. Besides that, you may get 5TP on those days MU wins a match

hii hii for maybank debit card ...lets say my annual fee is waived ..meaning i am entitled to 4 cash withdrawals right? the free withdrawals are renewed every start of the month or the date my card is created?

or will they prompt me that there will be charges if i already exceeded the 4 withdrawals ?
