Oh, but that still means I need to pay the RM8 annual atm fee right?

Annual fee yes and also got to maintain if not mistaken minimum RM25. But if you are thinking of depositing say more RM1K, I guess it is good that you open a savings account and earn some interest.

Hi guys, if I want the Public Bank D2D Debit Card, which savings account do I have to open? The basic one or the PLUS savings account?
PLUS Savings Account or any of the regular savings account from Public Islamic Bank. Last time basic savings account cannot be issued with the PBB D2D VISA debit card, not sure if things have changed though.

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jan 17 2012, 06:34 AM)
You do not necessary need to have a savings account to hold a PBB Debit Card. You can treat it as a prepaid card too. Monthly statement will be sent to you.
Except PBB D2D VISA debit card. This card is issued only with a PBB savings or current account smile.gif

For PBB PLUS Savings Account, the minimum deposit must be maintained all the time is only RM1.

Thanks for correcting me. Wah, if can go with PBB Plus, then it will be great.

Noe PBB changed the policy. You can have PBB D2D card with basic saving and no annual fee been charged but you need to maintain RM20 in your account all the time.

But for me, having a basic savings account is better than PLUS account, simply because there is interest rates for savings below 3k...will be using the card almost exclusively for petrol/retail and internet shopping, so there won't be much money at any given time in that account.

Btw any news on the CIMB debit card having online shopping capabilities? Was sort of tricked into opening an AirAsia Savers account, because the lady in charge of opening accounts said that I could use the debit card for online transactions vmad.gif

Unfortunately, the new CIMB Bank debit MasterCard still cannot be used for online shopping. Anyway, Air Asia Savers Account is good because it comes with a very high interest rate thumbup.gif But don't bother to use this CIMB Bank debit MasterCard to shop. The rewards system suck! Just as bad as Maybank Cherry VISA debit card.

Yeah from what I see the only other savings account that offers higher interest rates is m2u at 2.1%, but need to hold at least 2k...

Looked through the rewards catalogue for CIMB debit card, i gotta say A LOT of gifts start at 10k hahaha..but it does offer 1% cashback, which is slightly higher than Public bank d2d debit card. Any comments?

The 1% cash back is a limited time promotion. For bonus points accumulation, you are only given 1 bonus point for every RM2 charged to the card and the items available for redemption require many bonus points and you have to pay for the courrier fee yourself doh.gif

They should mail it to you in the next few days. Alternatively, you can walk into any PBB branches and they can generate one to you on the spot.

From what i remembered, i've looked at the PB ATM notices that you no longer can register online banking through ATM, you'll have to register at the customer service counter

Hi.

I am facing this problem with Cherry Maybank Debit Card - It seems like the bank is only allowing me to do 1 online transaction per day. Yesterday, my first online transaction was smooth, but 2nd was declined/blocked. Today I had the same problem again. My transaction limit was 2k, but the 1st & 2nd transactions are worth less than 1k.

Anyone faced this problem before?

The PIN is all ready and sealed. They just need to activate it over the computer, let the supervisor to approve the application and they will hand the sealed slip to you.

The card is accepted at places that accept VISA.
