well technically its both... a bad photographer uses poor techniques

from the comments, its because using a large aperture like f/1.8 and f/1.4? if smaller aperture like f/3.5 then it will remain sharp unsure.gif

Nope, I have taken many shots at f/1.4 with recompose technique. It isn't an issue, or rather even if there is differences it isn't big.

If you recompose in the same plane, then it might work. However if your subject moves slightly front or back, your shot is screwed. Especially when shooting at f1.4.

It won't be a big deal if all you do is just upload your shots to facebook and share...nobody will notice the difference(nose is sharper than the eye)...

It appears even sharper when you print them out. I've done 12R prints and they look fine.

if same lens and setting...recompose etc while remaining in focus will of cos depend on distance of subject.
85mm 1.4 with subject 1m away ur dof less than 1cm...go to say 5m away abd becomes around 20cm...enough allowance to recompose.

^ I lol'd seriously.

The small size of V1 makes that lens looks like it has it's own ability to capture image without a proper DSLR body.

yup Af-S sad.gif
i tend to get confuse which Af point to Af then recompose
some told me use center while others say use the nearest AF to subject then recompose

Now using nearest af point then recompose instead of center af point but unsure which type would be better to use

^The flash is harsh.

If you can have the light fall softer on the subject, then it will look nicer. Also it will be good if you can do better composition/framing.

Nice fill light there, maybe you should ask her to pose ( she+DSLR aim at end of the bridge ) and take her pose more towards the right side to make the image more story like IMO.

To be honest, no matter how negative people view for this V1/J1, I still think Nikon has something up their sleeve. I will look forward to this camera haha

35mm f/1.8 @ wide open eh. Not sure about this lens... but I'll probably suggest you to step down bit.

The fill flash too harsh. You can definitely notice the deep shadow behind the bag and the flash overblown the bag. Probably a bounce or diffused flash will be better smile.gif
