hi d7000 owners,

do any of u suffer from blur images taken with d7000?

it seems that a number of pictures that i took even with high shutter speed/VR on/flash appear not sharp...

a number of my images appear like the last picture in this thread:
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat...38682038&page=6

my ex nikon d40 with the same lens appear sharper when i pixel peep at 100%...
*
nikon recommends VR to be OFF at anything over 1/500s, thom hogan says 1/250s.
and what lens are u using? the 18-105 kit lens? if so, try something else, like borrow a cheap 50mm f/1.8d and stop it down to f/2.8 and test the sharpness.

if same lens and setting...recompose etc while remaining in focus will of cos depend on distance of subject.
85mm 1.4 with subject 1m away ur dof less than 1cm...go to say 5m away abd becomes around 20cm...enough allowance to recompose.

one reason for getting the V1 / J1 is so can mount current AF-S lenses and maintain full AF in a smaller body.
and then 70-200 will become 189-540 f/2.8 drool.gif

no need to buy any of the V1 / J1 lenses except for the 10mm 2.8 tongue.gif

why not just shoot with ur current DSLR and crop it urself 2.7x in photoshop later... same kan? =_______________________=
*
well, even from 200mm to 300mm doesnt sound like much difference.
but i've already tried enlarging a 200mm image to 300mm equivalent, and it still loses out to a proper 300mm image...and thats only 1.5x.
so yea, 2.7x enlarge will completely lose out.

movie mode doesnt affect shutter count la.
else DSLRs will have to have their shutters replaced every few months tongue.gif

the 1200fps is definitely movie mode.
the 60fps i see conflicting reports...1 say its 60fps at full resolution...another say its 60fps of 1080i stills.
if its the latter, then again its in movie mode and it just breaks up the movie into individual frames.

Hi, Im a beginner in photography and I just got my D5100 a month ago. I'm looking to buy a zoom lens as my 2nd lens probably a few months from now, depending on my financial situation  tongue.gif
So I have found two zoom lens that fit my budget which is less than 1k.

1) Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro Tele Zoom Lens
2) Nikon 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G AF-S DX NIKKOR ED VR Zoom Lens

So far the only major difference is the Macro ability on the Sigma and VR on the Nikon. Beside Nikon having the focal range from 55-70. Any ideas?
*
iinm the nikon 55-300 is now around rm950.
get that tongue.gif

70-300VR is 'softer' at 300mm, but center sharpness is still pretty decent...so even tho its a FX lens...it goes better on DX...kinda like the 70-200VR1.

would like to ask... which is better, 18-200 + 50mm or 18-55 + 55-300?
*
image quality - 18-55 + 55-300.
focus speed if important to u - 18-200 + 50mm.

There is dedicated Flash unit for V1, and also other accessories which complements video recording (including bigger touch screen enabled display).

i know got, but whats the point of getting existing users to buy new stuff if their old stuff is not compatible.

now this is a proper answer tongue.gif

How far off is the Sigma 85mm f1.4 compared to the Nikkor version? For the price of the 85 f1.4G, I could have the Sigma version + Tokina 11-16 hmm.gif
*
sigma is always prone to focus issues, if u manage to find a good one then of cos its very good...but more often than not u wont find.
thats why even ken rockwell calls sigma significant malfunction tongue.gif

It's nice to have that, but still mean need to spend for the additional "accesssories", but at least there is an option.
*
well, its pretty obvious then that nikon's target market are new / compact users who are upgrading, and didnt care at all for existing DSLR users who may want a portable system.
until of cos certain DSLR users starting making noise, that they decided to have adapters for the flashes and lenses tongue.gif
so looks like there should be enough demand from both kind of users.

aha, the neutral color one rite? as i know, that filter dont have UV.am I rite?

yes, but UV protection is not needed for digital.
the nikon NC like the name says neutral gives more accurate colors going thru.
