I spoke too soon.
7.10rc1 eventually died also after 4 weeks and 18 hours. (27/5 to 24/6.) Same "key handshake timeout" error.
Now running 7.10.1 but I read on Mikrotik's forum, ppl still having the same problem on 7.10.1 and 7.11beta2
Been running 7.10 for a few days.Hopefully no hiccup.I did read from mikrotik forum also,about disconnecting..but not sure what configuration they use.
Mine mostly default wifi router.No container.Only wireguard server.Clients mix androids,iphones(relatives devices) and one laptop.
