To give you some perspective,i did some test with my sister's house with this parameters.
(Only my laptop hooked up directly to router LAN,both Wifi was turned off, same laptop)

Disclaimer,Im not an expert, and i have no networking background or working in networking field and english is not my main language,
and take my explaination with a grain of salt.

RRUL(realtime response under load) Flent.

Without Cake(default Unifi Router,default setting)

With CAKE(Hap ac2,diffserv 3,wash is ON)

The ping shoot up to nearly 400ms for the first 15s,and hoovering to 200-250ms with default router.Tik with CAKE,it was at 45ms some sort of under control.

This is my flent result at our home without any AQM.

I have no need of AQM on our home.

Enjoy your reading.

Interesting results. What speed is your sister's Unifi?

FWIW here's mine. Flent 2.0.1. Python 3.9.13. Unifi 800Mbps. RB5009. No queues.

Are there other netperf servers that we can use? Highest total download I can get from singapore.starlink.taht.net is around 600Mbps.

Both were 300Mbps.We are living approx at 600KM apart, not on the same division.I had the test during my visit to her house during Gawai.
Just to give example, some do need it and some dont.Maybe something to do at her end(congestion, oversale or other possibility)

There are some more servers, but those were located very far from us.Singapore was the closes server that I know.Just replace the singapore to other place that you could think of.

It seem you capped the download/upload to 50/10 Mbps.On my previous test on cake with (95 % bandwidth) fasttrack disable, dual stack, diffserv 4,wash "on",max out at only ~230Mbps ish on 300Mbps with Hap ac2.It can do on fq codel.

Im wondering, how much could hap ac2 could take on fq codel?400Mpbs?or 500Mbps maybe?

Im learning this aqm because im planning to install 4g internet to my parent in law since there was no fiber on the area and hopefully can control latency since we often video calling.

Also,i did my first wireguard vpn server with hap ac2 with my android mobile as client rclxm9.gif

Latest RouterOS 7.5 beta released today added 802.11k to wifiwave2. Earlier beta had 802.11r for local interfaces(?). Now just need to wait for Mikrotik to release Wifi 6 hardware.

Awesome! hAP ax2. Can’t wait till it’s available here. Of course news of this has to come out just after I got a 2-pack of Deco X20.

Not sure what spec for the new hAP ax2. If like ax5000+ then i might get one for second floor wifi.
If good enough and acceptable coverage then i going to replace my xiaomi ax3600 for ground floor.

I got a feeling it’s going to be 2x2 80Mhz width which would be AX1800 at most. Unless they go full 160Mhz channel extensions.

I found this wifi6 guide from Aruba. Quite handy to figuring out the ax numbers.

Thanks to hasmidzul_jojo for pointing out the video.

hAP ax2 (RBD52Gi-5HaxD2HaxD-TC ?)
• Took nearly forever. LOL. At least he admits it.
• Should be IPQ6000
• Quad Core 1Ghz
• MU-MIMO
• WPA3
• 802.11ax dual chain (2x2) 80Mhz
• AX1800
• 4.5 dBi gain in 2.4Ghz
• 4 dBi gain in 5Ghz
• 1GB Ram
• 5 x GBe (1 is PoE in/out)
• USB 3.0 port
• DC 12-28v
• No more rubbery finish like hAP ac2

So basically same performance class as Deco X20, Asus XD4 or DLink M15. Of course, RouterOS will be its strength. Price wise? RM400 each? X20 is RM520-580 for 2 units.

Now just wait pricing, sked later T20 price. sweat.gif Supposedly launch next week.

Current Lazada Subtel prices:
hAP ac2 RM388
hAP ac3 RM515
hAP Audience RM699

Where will ax2 slot in?

Also curious to see block diagram and routing speeds.

For this spec,i might just skip this one 1st. and wait for an upgrade version. AX1800 quite low now, atleast ax3000 or ax3200 for future proof should be enough for most people. Although nowadays most people still didn't need high wifi speed, but a wifi router should last for more than 3years.
(Since 2.5Gbe is be mainstream within 2-3years. China is starting to distribute affordable(still a little expensive) 2.5Gbe BTU for market in this years end,so 2024 or 2025 more people will also be using better internet)

For me i think one year one set is quite unacceptable for me.
I change router about every 2-3years. (Next time should be around new series that replace RB5009 level, but i might be getting CCR series for whole house 10G network)

I think it will be steep increase in price, from usd79 for hap ac2.to maybe slighly above hap ac3 price. It is frustrating to compare current ax1800 wifi price 2x lower than that.Even linksys e8450 priced lower than hap ac3 with ax3200.Guest i need to sell more fish to obtain this hap ax2 biggrin.gif
