really? u can always wipe off any dirt or sticky thing on it right? i juz worry the rubber might spoiled if cleaned it wit water for long term, but rubber is a better grip than plastic...
It's not dirt or what, it's probably the resin or adhesive that's slowly melting off and appearing on the surface.

Alex, I'd blame the heat for that. My Ikari Laser is still fine inside the box for like 6-7 months untouched. Lol
Probably. Though I keep my mouse in the open.

LOL I thought that the rubber surface would get sticky because of usage... didn't expect it to become like that in storage... anyway what did u do with the Ikari Laser??
Wish there was a way to re-apply the surface

Didn't get sticky from usage, got sticky from lack of usage.
I think I'll go peel off the rubber surface one day.

Agree with you... my ex-Kinzu suffered the peeling from the matte rubber coating and sticky feel (aka resin rot)
so I avoided the Xai and went for the Sensei

Added on September 29, 2011, 12:48 pmI tried to rename my profile to "Aa" but after restarting my pc it still defaults back to the Aion orange LED settings
Guess I will stick to unticking the msconfig startup service till SS releases a new driver version

Peeling? Oh wow. Mine wasn't that bad.
I renamed mine as "Aa - iVantage". After that, it doesn't toggle to the Aion profile anymore.
