QUOTE(sg999 @ Sep 20 2011, 10:14 PM) Drag effect fr a/c kick-in mainly caused by a/c magnetic clutch engagement...load on engine. This is very obvious in a small/low power engine trying to drive a high power a/c compressor. So a VS does not help here. However, if the drag is due2 the drain in electrical supply operating the a/c clutch, there is a possible reduction if the VS capacitance value is HIGH enuf to overcome the drain... ps. my little knowledge fr little personal experience nia. |

I hardly feel the effect of a/c drag effect. Or maybe I am too busy enjoying my new car?
------- Anyway, washing car today for first time, I was thinking to myself (and sharing with u all now): - if u love yr car, u shld wash it yourself cos u can then lovingly caress your car like giving your baby a foam bath - any scratches caused by flying stones etc, u will be first to notice it as u wash yr car - u also get a good exercise Also, I have used many different car shampoo, from Turtle to Johnson etc. Guess what? I find the best of the best is still: - Amway LOC which is not only gentle on my hands, it's also biodegradable. This post has been edited by lowyatsuperman: Sep 20 2011, 11:44 PM |

A very good morning 2ALL BLM/FL/FLX lovers!!
A simple UPDATE re my recent changeover to Denso Iridium Power Spark Plugs : 1. No significant noticeable after effects...most probably engine is still new. Only reaching 5k Km. 2. Starts @ each & every turn of ignition key. 3. Used abt 12.5L of Petronas RON95 on first topup after 137.3Km. 4. Felt a slightly smoother engine response to presses on accelerator pedal...mayb "placebo" effect(?). 5. Savings in expenses cos each NGK change costs Rm38 & if each change @10k Km, total cost after 100k Km = 10x38 ie RM380!! Savings = RM220+ not incl labour charges!! So most probably benefits cld b juz easier starting, longer life & less "misfiring" which contributed to a smoother engine(?). Only time will tell, rite? QUOTE(zeone @ Sep 20 2011, 11:13 PM) 1.3L probably due2 compressor power drag on engine output...?? My man-in-the-street guess? Haha! lag is still obvious, not exactly like 1.3L lag, bit better, i guess, i can say the aircond eat power a lot no matter how many cc you have..but on 1.6L the aircond cools faster i think..Mayb our 1.6FL bros can shed some light if their higher capacity engine has similar drag?
