what can say, flx is a white mouse for cvt..as a owners, just dont give up to claim warranty
in every parts there will be issue, but hopefully it wont be like iafm issues where almost very saga blm will have iafm problems..but it can be considered minor la, because your car still can be driven. but if cvt gearbox got problem, u car cannot run...hopefully this is an isolated case.. QUOTE(MR_alien @ Sep 13 2011, 07:12 PM) but i hardly see ppl change the tensioner belt, although some websites advise to change it..then feel the car like new..after i overhauled the car, they change the timing belt, but re-used the old tensioner belt found some info » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « http://autos.yahoo.com/maintain/repairqa/e.../ques040_2.html http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars/how-t...tenance/4311197 http://autorepair.about.com/od/quicktips/a...entine-insp.htm i can say that, better to change the belt soon..before anything happens.. QUOTE(MR_alien @ Sep 13 2011, 07:33 PM) need to ask SC...the tensioner belt is due when...sure got due date one like 80k for timing belt yup true need to ask when its due, from the website it saysand since that single belt runs so many thing in our car...surely change is better but need to ask the belt is due when QUOTE They should require no maintenance unlike their predecessors the V-Belt that needed periodic adjusting. But the fact of the matter is they don't last forever and they do need to be inspected often to keep you from getting stuck. If it starts to go bad, you can replace it at a time of your choosing and not when the belt decides for you. Checking ribbed drive belts at every oil change, and the position of the self-adjusting mechanism indicator, will insure you catch a bad belt long before it snaps. QUOTE(zeone @ Sep 20 2011, 11:13 PM) 1.3L probably due2 compressor power drag on engine output...?? My man-in-the-street guess? Haha! lag is still obvious, not exactly like 1.3L lag, bit better, i guess, i can say the aircond eat power a lot no matter how many cc you have..but on 1.6L the aircond cools faster i think..Mayb our 1.6FL bros can shed some light if their higher capacity engine has similar drag? QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Sep 23 2011, 06:03 PM) transmission loss lower compared to auto mah, but compare to manual, still lose by quite a big margin. i need to try ur cvt later...r u going for any TT?sorry ah, although I am driving a CVT FLX myself, 0-100 it can never be faster than manual. Manual have the freedom to dump the clutch at a sweet spot and the car just lurch forward without any hesitation and build up speed as it goes. from idle (900rpm) till around 1,800-2,000 rpm is basically our campro "lazy spot". Pass that and you can do 110 accidentally. ACCIDENTALLY! |

QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Sep 26 2011, 08:18 PM) OMG... just now my FLX give me a shock of my life. hmm..seems like punch must be punched in the face I was turning into Kampung pandan (Aminuddin Baki) and suddenly the CVT Warning light comes on!!!!!!!!! OMFGGGG!!!! The gearbox is like just jammed at 1,800rpm and the speed just stay at constant 40km/h. No matter how much throttle input, the speed and rpm just wont raise. Stopped by roadside and turn off engine a while then start back. Warning light gone and got home safely without any unwanted incidents. |

QUOTE(gogoman86 @ Sep 27 2011, 08:47 AM) so far the cheapest i can find thru internet is RM78... anyone could find cheaper price for that arm rest? or any car's accessories shop selling cheaper? maybe can be solved by using bigger cvt cooler? hopefully.oh ya, V12Kompressor, i have this problem too previously. after finish washing my car, i started the engine and the CVT light is stay on... however, i didn't turn off the engine, but proceed with accelerate. when i get out from the car wash shop (about 5 secs), the CVT light is gone. this case happen when my ODO reading around 800KM (still haven't send for 1st service yet)... when i send for my 1st service at ODO 1700KM, i forgot to inform them the CVT light problem, but now my ODO reading already 32xx, the CVT light never give me problem dy... i can say that, the CVT light up because of the GB temperature problem, and it will limit the speed of your drive to protect it. btw, the CVT came with protection system, for example, when you stopped your car, put your gear position to either P or N. try to rev as high as you can, but it won't go further than 2,500RPM...
