Okay, here's a mini review on the FLX after my drive to S'pore. I am still there, going back to KL on Monday.

Because the engine haven't run in yet, I have to keep looking at speedo. The car is very easy to reach 110kmph without much effort. My average speed is 90-110.

I love the firm suspension especially going over bumps. Some cars when going over "botak" roads (ie roads with the tar surface gone) will be very noisy. Surprisingly FLX's road noise is minimal, feels like a car with 1.8L engine. I think the Goodyear tyres are a good choice by Proton although I am wondering if Dunlop will be even quieter as I have experienced those tyres before. Road holding is also exceptionally good esp when taking corners.

Driving long distance with the car is very comfortable because of the smooth ride. It's hard to imagine this is only a 1.3L car. I am glad I did not wait for 1.6L as I need the car NOW and this 1.3 model satisfies my need especially that I prefer fuel economy vs speed. Those who want speed may wanna wait for 1.6 though.

The steering wheel cannot be used in the "high" position cos that would block your view of the speedometers etc. I put it at lowest position but arms also get a bit tired at that angle after awhile. Would be good if future models have foldable arm rests like what I had in my previous Estima MPV.

The seat is also quite high (I guess to accommodate shorter people) so I had to lower it down otherwise my head will be almost touching the top.

Some ppl envy the Maivee's speedo design but I think the FLX is sufficient. I don't care much about the meters looking nice like Christmas tree as "ride comfort" is my top priority. Maivee driven over long distance can be uncomfortable and noisier which is common for hatchbacks. The hatch rattles quite a bit and get worse over the years.

About the sound system... (to be contd)....

I was planning to drive to penang and back on the same day. So it gonna be quite some distance. I've read some comments that we should vary the rpm and avoid constant speed. But then, i'm not sure whether i should drive beyond the speed limit of 90km/h as stated in the manual. Btw, i think driving <90km/h on the highway is just  annoying tongue.gif

I already speed up to 120km/h when I get my new car. so far no problem...

if the dunlop is goodyear/dunlop tyre is quiet enough for u thn u can't even imagine how quiet continental CC5 would be...hehehehe
and those foldable arm rest only available on high end MPV...but u can modify 1 for yourself..won't be available on sedan anytime soon
and the seat is high...additional steel below plus the ride itself is already high
wait for 1.6 for more POWER..HAHA

and 1 question for FLX user...since pickup is effortless
when the aircon kicks in...would it affect the power/pickup like in normal 4AT?
