QUOTE(LittleMin @ Oct 10 2011, 09:01 PM) bro is the shell nx7 10-40w fully syn engine oil?? It's just semi. My mech recommend use fully syn 5-40/35. But if u wan fully kind of waste money cuz proton warranty only valid for 1k, 5k service and so on or 3 month and so on whichever come first. Fully syn can go further mileage but u must change before hit 5,500k or they will void the warranty cuz u dden check in service when u must. I rather lost power than warranty void. What's your opinion?i'm oso suffering with the same situation u met, which felt power lost after 1000 service n i can felt my engine more noisy & kasar also any good engine oil to recommend? i dun mind to use expensive oil, even endless i oso pakai LOL This post has been edited by stanleypua: Oct 10 2011, 09:16 PM |

QUOTE(ericmaxman @ Oct 6 2011, 11:36 PM) Okay, let me rephrase this. Engine Oil You're safe to use any type of engine oil. Semi synthetic or fully synthetic, it's up to you. Go fully syn if you got the budget for it, otherwise, just use semi. All engine oils are the same. Base oil same, only depends on what additives are added in. Petronas, Shell, Castrol are all 95% similar. Fuel Consumption Want to get better mileage? Be light footed. Dont friggin bother getting those so-called petrol savers. The dont work. Regular servicing, checking tire pressure all helps. Driving style and traffic condition are the 2 major contributors to bad/good FC. Learn to know how to shift early. Or be like some of us, we couldn't care less about FC. We just enjoy our ride as it is. |

I've been using Mobil 1 for quite some time already on both a proton and a perodua, feels really good, much better compared to other brands i feel, in terms of engine response and idling speed etc. Just a personal point of view. never actually tried castrol or shell before, so i cant help you there.

after few days off the internet, so many post already...
anyhow, i found some info regarding the CVT jerking problem... i heard that, if we disconnected the battery terminal, we need to reset the CVT timing from SC... it's mean every time we change new battery for our FLX's CVT car, we need to send our car to SC for CVT reset. (those info from Honda forums) btw, i still remember that our car before the delivery to us, they removed the positive terminal from battery when keep the car in store... i was wondering if that is the source of our jerking problem. anyone who driving FLX's CVT here been to SC for re-programme their CVT timing due to jerking issue? and how's the result? |
