You would do well to heed your own advice. And boys, the "report" button works better than the "reply" button.

QUOTE(jflcorp @ Sep 28 2011, 11:31 PM) No i do not own one. I did not test drive one either as there is no available test drive vehicles(another sandiwara) so i did my research about the SAT. The question was about the SAT right? So yes the SAT button does nothing but to "simulate" the supposedly engine down rpm when a higher gear is engaged only because many customers around the world couldn't get use to the gearless change. I think you're half right. No offence taken but i still dont trust Proton's thrust into CVT. Some incidences of CVT overheating, i hear. So you don't have to go all defensive like.... Yes, the SAT was meant to simulate normal AT by electronically adjusting the ratio in a stepped manner than a continuous manner. Whether it was REALLY meant to accomodate drivers who are used to normal AT, well only Proton knows. Honestly, this is a very silly idea but this is Proton we're talking about, so I won't put it past them. Evidently, a "side effect" of the SAT was better performance when going uphill because you are able to rev to a more efficient RPM instead of having the CVT keeping it at a constant lower RPM, so you can't really say that it is a useless AT simulator. That being said, I think this kinda defeat the purpose of CVT because CVT is supposed to excel in uphill situations (meaning more fuel efficient). |

Ah Beng bought a Honda VTI recently and drove to Ah Lian’s place to show it to her. So there Ah Beng was, telling and bragging the various functions of his newcar to his girlfriend. “This is ah, so fast even the Mata Chia cannot catch ah!” “Ha! Really ah!!! Steady lah!” said Ah Lian. “Somemore hor, this is Automatic one, vely easy to drive!” So Ah Lian said, “Let me try! I wan, I wan!” So Ah Lian took the driver’s seat and shifted the gear and floored the accelerator. The next moment, the car sped backwards and crashed into the lamp-post. “Alamak! What are u doing?!!! U Siao Char Bo! U see lah!!! Wah Piang eh!” screamed Ah Beng. “Solee, solee, pai sah lah! No lah, I tot hor, “R” for racing mah! |

QUOTE(lowyatsuperman @ Oct 1 2011, 11:19 PM) I wonder how do they engineer the GB or engine to disintegrate in 10 yrs? I wld think with better/more precise technology, things wld work smoother/longer? That's right...with precision engineering they designed it to break after precisely 10 yrs. The bigggest culprit are the electronics, eg.wiring, ECU, sensors etc, because they are difficult to diagnose and more easily damaged compared to mechanical parts. Not to mention they are always f*cking expensive to fix. Worse of all, a minor electronic malfunction could cripple your vehicle. Look at those cars running on carburators still kicking around. I use to own a Saga that ran well without a hitch for 10 years. My first time stranded roadside was on a Waja because of a broken fuel pump relay This post has been edited by dares: Oct 2 2011, 02:11 AM |

I agree with V12. From a purely aesthetic standpoint, Proton's logo looks fine...just the company's reputation is questionable.
To be honest one of my pet peeve is people fitting mitsu badges on their proton cars, it's like buying fake LV handbag from pasar malam. Everyone know it's not LV, but still wanna pretend. Proton's logo is much much better then before lor....remember the sickle moon and star logo? |

QUOTE(lowyatsuperman @ Oct 3 2011, 02:56 AM) But someday I might drive a Proton with an implanted Mit engine, so maybe that entitles me to stick some Mit logos? hehe... On second thought...maybe we can avenge Mitsubishi because Proton force their Lancer to wear Proton badge. This post has been edited by dares: Oct 3 2011, 03:33 AM |

QUOTE(four_add @ Oct 4 2011, 09:24 AM) guys, my tyre is about to reach the age of 3 years next month.. should I change it ? Used too long the tyre rubber will crack and harden, eventually the whole thing will break. 3-4 years sounds about right. If the Tread Wear Indicator (TWI) shows that there is still tread (didnt drive so much), should I still change the tyre ? my friend says that tyre lifespan is usually 3/4 years.. more than that then the tyre could 'blow up'! |

I couldnt make it tonight coz came back late....on my way back I kepoh drove by BRJ around 9.45pm in a Vios, thinking to myself "Where the hack are all the BLMs / FLs / FLXs?", thought everybody left already.
On the way followed a black BLM with a N.Sembilan plate, with the BLMclub.com sticker in the rear glass. Belong to anyone here? |

QUOTE(zeone @ Oct 13 2011, 02:48 PM) There's a very old & common saying : One gets what one pays for..." If that is true, then it stands to reason that if I buy a brand new Waja H-line now, I should expect the performance and quality similiar to that of a 2011 Camry. Why? a new Camry in the US costs USD $22k, which translates to about RM65-75k here.Heard that b4? Yup, higher quality products by vendors supplying parts to Proton means HIGHER cost. That eventually means HIGHER prices 2pay by Buyers. True? Ppl who buy Merz also got probs with their cars... I'm sorry to say that Proton gets away with all these crap because of the hefty import tax levied on import cars, so we have no choice but to buy their cars because many can't afford to buy imports. It's naive to say that because their product is low quality that's why we can buy their cars so cheap....that simply is incorrect. Why do you think Inspira costs 90k and a Lancer costs RM 130k? EDIT: Sorry I have to bring this up, but it's an open secret anyway and I drive a 10 year old Waja This post has been edited by dares: Oct 13 2011, 09:16 PM |
