on the fly = change your dpi on the fly. That means when you realized you set it too high to your liking, then you can switch it lower 'on the fly', no need to exit to desktop to change.

obviously I'm saying it with full of sacrcasm. No keyboards is perfect, you can get a 6Gv2 or 7G and end up with some minor glitches, depends on luck. BWU, yes, but all the problems is very minor and it can be fixed by the user itself.

BF3, me tooo tongue.gif hope to get Zibal60, if there is a distributor really bringing that in.
actually I realized something, if Zibal60 really comes into Malaysia market, it'll whack all SS mechanical keyboards out of the market.

Based on what i found, there may be caused by Optical Illusion....

Unfortunately... it's indeed taller. Please have a look here:

Attached Image

Sorry it's F6 instead of F5 key stated earlier. notice the red rectangle drawn by me, it shows that it's a bit longer than the F5 next to it. And should I put a scale on F keys row, it will be blocked by F6 itself. doh.gif

as in the dpi settings or setup?

for sensitivity settings, the best way is just keep trying and testing until you find one that is just nice for you.

what kind of games do you play? FPS? then just set to around 1600dpi+- and then set the in-game sensitivity. It depends on the user, some prefer fast, some prefer slow.

Hmm.... me use 2000 dpi enough already.
Tried the 5700 dpi the cursor is like on nitro, dunno how those people play with it... I saw even the pros are only using 400 to 800 dpi on a large mat.

Salute man, 3200 for me also too much rclxub.gif, I at most use 2600 when running with rifle... but keep around the same for sniper coz my R.A.T 7 mouse got a button for you to temporary lower the DPI to your setting.

anyway 1600 is very nice for me to play other action/ 3rd person view game.

Black Edition is abit slippery for me(no sweaty hands)

Mionix Naos 5000 performs very well as it uses Avago 9500 sensor which is also in the Logitech G500, G9x, Alienware Tactx and Xai.
Mionix is strictly a palm-grip mouse thus, I cant really enjoy the mouse as I'm a claw grip users.

Since I dont have sweaty hands, 3.5G is my favorite as I use 3500DPI to game.
1. Deathadder
2. Alienware Tactx
3. Abyssus (best for mobile gaming)
4. Copperhead/Cooler Master Spawn

since u like 3.5g da, why not try 3.5 mamba?

I tried both Mamba 3.5G and 4G.
They are totally rubbish.
- Too heavy
- DPI buttons are awkward to reach while gaming
- Bad sensor
- Poor battery life
- A total waste of $$$

I pity any poor soul that thinks Mamba is a gaming mouse when it's only a over-priced over-blinged wireless mouse.
Mamba is for hooligans who love neons and think they're awesome with bling bling mouse.

Mamba is my newly appointed worst mouse ever, Kinzu was the ex-worst mouse.

List of horrible mouse I have ever used:
- Razer Mamba 3.5G
- Razer Mamba 4G
- Roccat Kone
- Roccat Kone+
- Roccat Kova
- Steelseries Kinzu
- Thermaltake Azurues
- Thermaltake Black
- Thermaltake Black Element

Kinzu v1 is definitely on the list due the worst sensor known to man and crappy switches which fail me after 2 RMA
Kinzu Red is slighter better with OMRON switches but the sensor is still the same crappy one.

Kinzu red will be in my neutral list so it the Xai.
Xai has a good sensor but the side buttons are too small and awkward to reach while gaming and Steelseries software is horrible to program the mouse.

But Kinzu have one very strong point that is it's shape, It's the perfect claw-grip mouse.
I tempted to build the legendary Kinzuadder(mutant of Deathadder internals with Kinzu casing)

CMstorm = Sentinel Advance?
I haven't test that but it would be in the horrible list due to the Philips twin eye sensor.
There are others that I've not tested but probably be on the horrible list such as the Imperator 4G and Lachesis
Cooler Master only makes one good mouse that is the Spawn but it's strictly for claw grip users only.

Before recommending, I have some questions.
What is your hand(glove) size? XS/S/M/L/XL
What grip do you use? (finger/claw/palm)
How serious are you in gaming respectively in each type of game? (Casual/Serious/Competitive)

Heard many modders on overclock.net making KinzuAdders (Best shape + best sensor = best mouse ever )
CMStorm Spawn i think is by far the best mouse made by CMStorm as it receives many positive reviews, plus it is a claw-grip type ( my type!!! yay~~~)

i've been using mamba since the launching and has yet to find any problems (except for the squeaking wheel, after RMA'ed twice finally never happen again LOL).

button placement is also quite nice for me. doesn't seem to be unreachable or finger hurting.

i also claw, but for me the kinzu shape is just a little too small...plus the lack of side buttons is a no-go for me.
xai is almost there, and of cos the copperhead...pity razer wont be doing any updates to it...

the xai side buttons, well in-game i only use the one nearest to the palm...so yea no issues here.
same with any razer mouse, only use the nearest...the furthest one i set to on-the-fly sens.

You can buy 2 DeathAdders with Mamba 4G's price.

Me luving mai DeathAdder now, other Razer mouse just throw aside......now tempted to get DeathAdder Black Edition wub.gif

My only issue is the side buttons, quite used to Imperator's adjustable side buttons where you just slide to the front sweat.gif

Abyssus -> Finger grip
Naga -> serious MMORPG but not good for FPS if you lift your mouse(low sens)

Deathadder will be the best for inbetween but I'm not sure if you can finger grip.
I have small hands but claw grip the DA just fine.

R.A.T. 7 is heavy and use the same sensor as the Mamba.
But at least R.A.T. have grip customization and precision aim button.

Imperator is not a good FPS mouse if you lift your mouse(low sens).
The Philips Twin Eye sensor is infamous for the down-left diagonal movement whenever the user lift and put down the mouse.

IMO, Razer should use more Avago 9500 sensor in their higher DPI mice instead of the Philip Twin Eye sensor.

Any mouse recommendation for small hand? (I guess my hands are small, when compared to other LOL).

Using claw grip. except Razer Orochi, Imperator seem good..
Never tried R.A.T before, is it really good? seem like not really comfortable due to a lot gap on the mouse.

Currently using Logitech M950, a bit huge for me, my hand cannot covered the entire mouse, my index finger can only reach half of the scroll wheel when using claw grip.

i have a claw grip, and i use DA fine.
i was using the xai before this, another claw grip mouse, and the size of the xai butt suprisingly is almost the same as the DA.

Differences between the mirror and normal edition is that mirror edition is finger print magnet and the normal one is dust magnet. Your call. Both are the same. Just the finishing different. As for mouse, if you have small hands, why target the Deathadder? It's meant for big hand users cause it is big. You want small mouse, can try abyssus or orochi that's if you want a razer mouse.

Differences between the mirror and normal edition is that mirror edition is finger print magnet and the normal one is dust magnet. Your call. Both are the same. Just the finishing different. As for mouse, if you have small hands, why target the Deathadder? It's meant for big hand users cause it is big. You want small mouse, can try abyssus or orochi that's if you want a razer mouse.

cause i tried this on one of the cc, and it quite fit my hands.

Hey, Imperator is shorter than Deathadder in term of length... So imperator is smaller smile.gif
If you want like krait, diamondback 3g or copperhead suit u.

HD555 and AD700 are great headset for gaming.

Gaming headset and audiophile have different purpose. Audiophile headset is design for Clear sound, some like heavy base some like wide sound stage. Most gaming headset is focus on surround, bcos when u play game u want live feel where u can know where your enemy is approaching, plus base is lighter compare with audiophile so that gunshot will not hurt your ear drum.

Conclusion Gaming headset is not rubbish compare with Audiophile headset, just that it serve different purpose.

True that. Gaming headsets have higher treble compared to audio ones. Lesser bass. Cannot compare. It's like comparing an apple and an orange. But if you want balanced headset, Steelseries Siberia v2 works fine with both game and music. Razer Orca not bad also except it does not have a mic.

They both are almost the same. Copperhead and the 1mm longer length and 3mm larger width than diamondback 3g.
So is it diamondback bigger since the height is 2.5mm higher than copperhead?

I believe it's more of the mouse natural feel. I like the Copperhead over the Diamondback because when i upgraded from a Krait the feeling of holding the Diamondback was a little weird and quite bulky. So it gave me an impression of it being bigger then the copperhead.

Plus what i like about the Copperhead was that there isn't any glossy material in the palm area. Better-placed side buttons with the pulsing logo in palm rest area.

For me the Copperhead has a nice pleasing feel compare to the Diamondback. Both are actually good mice nonetheless but in my opinion I'd still recommend the Copperhead. =D

I mentioned quite some time ago that for if you are using Lycosa and you use W, A, S, D for movement you will not be able to move diagonally because when you hold down W the keyboard will not detect the key press on A, combination of W and D is working fine. This is especially bad if you are playing FPS a lot and likes to run circle around your enemy. I remembered there are few more issues I spotted with the keyboard but can't remember.

I'm not sure whether they fix it on the newer version of Lycosa or not.

I know there is a CC in Aman Suria that let the users use DA, can't remember whether it is the closed-down TBun thingy or Hexagon. I think it is Hexagon, cause 2 floors.

Asia Cafe at Subang Jaya also offers Razer products which is actually tailored made for the China market, don't know how did it end up here tongue.gif don't think it is Cyclosa...can't remember well.

Gone are the times when CCs give you trashy gears, even INC offers Sidewinder X3 & IME3.0..BlitZone, Ikariiii <3

Ah, the random key dying on you problem.

It's a problem with the keyboard as well but it happens very rarely in my case so it's not a big problem to me, but when it happens, it can make you scream out of frustration especially when you are in the middle of a big fight.

The W+A problem is guaranteed to happen 100% every time you hold down W and press A.

It uses different key switches , the stealth uses the brown while the normal one uses the blues which causes the clicky sound to be heard.

Walao.... now Razer is like a total stranger to me already!!!!
Back in 2007: I thought Razer was a gaming peripheral manufacturer with products that kick ass.
A few years back: Razer is becoming a gaming peripheral marketing tycoon with bling bling
and now: Razer is making a USD2,800 laptop and a arcade board???? OMG.... Razer, just who are you now???

I think the change of 104 switches is something big.... And also, there is no more glossy surface = bye-bye fingerprints
I think the two aspects would justify the new buy.

Any sifus here can tell me what can I do about it? If send for warranty I go to Ban Leong or the original place I bought from? Thanks.

u can put the best mouse in the world in a cc full of dotards, and it will still get broken.
not as if they ppl who play there have an obligation to look after stuff that doesnt belong to them.
*
I don't find broken stuff an issue to me. What I hate the most is when the PC you choose, the mouse is bloody sticky because the CC do provide food services. Then those ah beng dotards eat and play then keyboard and mouse also bloody sticky.

the funniest I've ever encountered is sitting next to a dood watching prawn, well you can do it in the BlitZone DJ branch wink.gif

Am using the normal version of razer lycosa, sometimes random keys cannot work (machiam shift key kena jammed) but it rarely occurs. When it does however, plugging out and plugging in again somehow doesnt work for me sleep.gif"

as for my friend, was using his razer lycosa mirror ed yesterday. random keys couldnt work, plug out plug in method = normal keyboard again.

BWU can press up to 6 keys, i would prefer BWU over Lycosa, it is a backlit mechanical keyboard, tried BWU and Lycosa, BWU feels solid and steady for typing and gaming, tried my fren lycosa, just dun like the feel when compare with BWU.

Didn't know the lycosa has so much problem. When I bought mine, I used for like 1 1/2 years with no problems. (Well, maybe just my luck). I've tried both lycosa mirror ed and BWU. Different league. 1 mech keyboard and 1 membrane keyboard. 1 think I like about BWU is the clicky sound. Oh, and lycosa mirror ed is finger print magnet. I have to wipe every time after I used to keep the keyboard clean. The touch pad for the lycosa mirror ed work on vlc, wmp, itunes. For mine la.

v1 (3.5G) and v2 (4G) uses the exact same philips twin eye sensor.
just the 4G adds on a optical sensor to supposedly help with the lift-off issues etc.

Who said BWU dun have anti-ghosting?
Does Razer BlackWidow have anti-ghosting capability? How about N-key rollover?
A. Yes, the Razer BlackWidow does have anti-ghosting capabilities. The Razer BlackWidow is a USB only keyboard that features a gaming optimized key matrix that allows the recognition of up to six simultaneous key presses. N-key rollover (NKRO) is only possible with a direct connection to a native PS/2 port on the computer which also has other limitations that USB overcomes. The Razer BlackWidow’s gaming optimized key matrix serves a similar purpose while using the more modern and readily available USB port.

Should be able to unplug the keys from your KB since Lycosa is an ordinary keyboard. Mech keyboards are the easiest to detach. IMO la.

Theres practically no use for it actually , unless your a HC portal player... @_@

Even playing FPS on it kinda sucked to the max..
i don't see the application of it in a normal pc gamer.

^this.

it's kinda engaging playing with the hydra on some games but eventually i prefer using a kb and mouse. plus holding it like that and playing on a long run is tiring for the arm.

bring it in with receipt for warranty and show the problem. exchange new one if problem is obvious enuff that does not require further testing that require u to leave it for a period of time.

Im not too sure why my goliathus speed has this problem.
Im using DA black edition, when i put the mouse on the mat, the cursor will move itself.

Then i swap with scarab, the problem gone.

Isit my cloth mat dirty or what?

try seach for a thinner cloth mousepad,
becoz it will feel hard anywhere you put it as long as not on top of soft things,
this could be a chap alternative way to replacing hard mat.

Depends solely on personal preference too. I used the Goliathus before, it was great and very comfortable as it can be a good wrist rest too.

I would recommend for Goliathus speed edition, the surface is very smooth and comfortable. I own a medium and extended size, high recommend it since the medium size goliathus is within your budget too.

im well aware of the led..I tried deathadder refresh at a cc quite some times, must say that i like the shape.. biggrin.gif
The only problem is about deathadder refresh and black edition is the surface of it..Which do you recommend?? I heard da black got a nice top surface which is similar to steelseries and it is easier to maintain + the rubbery sides is wonderful..not to mention that da black wont have a scroll wheel that will turn yellowish after a period of time..
So da normal or black? rclxub.gif

My vote would go for the Black Edition, after prolonged usage, if you have sweaty hands, the LED will generate heat for the mouse and you will eventually soak your mouse in sweats.... ew....... sweat.gif sweat.gif

yea, the purple one.
AFAIK the current keyboards supporting NKRO are mechanical keyboards. There are other keyboards which can do so but not in my knowledge base.

just a question, if nkro are from mech keyboards then which means the razer black widow ultimate is also nkro as well? but then is using usb which might be limiting its capability? and if using a usb to ps2 converter will be able to unlock the full potential?

no difference.
plus it would defeat the purpose of buying the BW, which for most ppl is for the macros which only works with USB.
so yea, in short go get other boards if macro is not important and u want nkro.

but the point still remains that if he wants NKRO, he shouldnt be looking at BW.

Does the BWU/expert BWU stealth/expert stealth all supporting NKRO?
I thought last time the BW expert and BWU only have 2 KRO and the so-called "anti-ghosting" cluster matrix on the WASD cluster...

Though the new BWU stealth/expert already confirmed by Razer to have NKRO on P/S2...

i remember trying the BWU before and only got 6kro.
new stealth can? hmm interesting...but its still a waste cos the macros will be unused, better buy another kb.
then again, its cheaper than most tongue.gif

i still dont like the design tho cos the macro keys on the left keep bugging me...always mispress the keys near wasd.

yeap it's quite good for claw grip. if u use the asian pro edition which is smaller in size without the rubber felt it's more nice as u dun hv to worry about the rubber being scraped off due to fingernails and hardly ure palm will touch the top of the mouse.

Hey Razer Fans,

I might consider a trade from a Lycossa Mirror to the Anansi.

What's your verdict on that? Recommended? or no?

I know it's two different keyboards, but are they comparable? (MMO classified is not a factor)

I think you just need to be more careful when choosing seller, let's say in taobao.
Choose them based on the reputation and also the user feedback/ratings.

After 3 months sinced I sent my Razer Lachesis mouse for repair, yesterday the retailer called me and he says that the mouse can't be fixed for certain reason, and they've decided to exchange a new one for me! Today I went to the shop for the exchange, and I got a new version (5600dpi version) and my old one (4000dpi if I'm not mistaken) for free. I'm so lucky. smile.gif Thank you Razer!!

It's not rare anymore. Cause razerzone already launched it. Can purchase through the official website. Heard one of my friend's friend saying that razer only sell the transformer edition through website. Will not distributing to the local stores. Wonder how true is that. hmm.gif hmm.gif

You're too naive, if it's Razer, it would at least be >80%
Take a look at the USD2,800 notebook and you get the margin.

Probably some plastic inside broken. If still under warranty, then just send to rma la. Or else just open your mouse and see what's inside. tongue.gif

Does opening the mouse require ripping off the feet ?? And a risk then I might spoiled it myself then the warranty voided ??

I think the moment you open up your mouse, the warranty is already voided whether or not you spoiled it.

well, obviously u do not see any screws under the mouse right? cos they're all under the feet.
warranty void depends how well u take it apart.
the mouse is easy to take apart, but to put it back is harder and u may break a clip somewhere.

Want to ask, does the Razer Onza supports all PC games that require the 360 controller?
Since its technically a 360 controller on the inside. I know this maybe a silly question, but I just want to make sure.

nope, top definitely has some very thin coating on it to give it that metallic greyish color.
i still prefer the original DA, cos i really hate the rubber coating on the side of the DA black, damn slippery.

I think it does ...As long in the game you enter the setting for controller/buttons config should be able to set... Maybe you will need to do some button configurations... Using a trustmaster controller. Needed to re-allocate some buttons as Im used to PS controllers only ... Planning to get Razer Onza TE

That's a relief, some games are only compatible with Xbox 360 controller, that's why I'm worried that buying the Onza TE is just as useless as the other gamepads that are not compatible with some PC games.

Can't do that for DA, I remember there was 1 screw under the label, which is almost impossible to remove without making a hole on it..

Well, the sticky rubber may be due to sweaty hands (i for one, will sweat like there has been flood going on)
the torn braided wire and all sorts may be due to random events or prolonged friction between the cable and your table surface if you know what i mean....

Want to ask, does the Razer Onza supports all PC games that require the 360 controller?
Since its technically a 360 controller on the inside. I know this maybe a silly question, but I just want to make sure.
*
I think so since I owned one, So far I've been using it to play FIFA's, NBA2K11, Assassin's Creed, Mafia 2, NFS, Deadspace 2 and I believe there's a lot of other games can be played using Onza. All works perfectly, hopes this may help. smile.gif

Yo guys, new Razer-ed forumer reporting in! Bought my Chimaera 5.1 from linglong a few weeks ago... PMed quite a number of sellers but some were either expensive or simply don't have stock. I ended up with linglong because his price is reasonable and is the only guy who could send out asap (Yea, I was so very excited and wanted to make sure my headset will arrive by weekend tongue.gif )

Anyway, as expected from Razer this thing came in an elaborate packaging. Heck, even the user manual has colours in it and cut in a non-standard shape whereas most manufacturers will just settle with monolithic square/rectangle. The charging stand is practical, serves well to hold the headset in place when not in use as well as charging without the need to connect an extra power cable. Bling-bling is of course classy and cool cool2.gif One of the deciding factors over Chimaera 2.1 for me is that this model runs on the 5.8GHz frequency, so no fighting for channels. My housing area has plenty of wireless routers in range, coupled with my own bluetooth devices, wireless mouse and keyboard, etc. I dunno about everyone else but going through annoying frequent stutters or dropouts in-game is a big no no. Oh yea, thing baby has an optical port so I can easily hook it up to my PS3. Mic of course wouldn't work since Chimaera 5.1 was designed for XBOX360, but I think it's possible to workaround this limitation by switching to local team comm mode and hook an audio cable from the 3.5mm jack to a USB soundcard on the PS3.

No issues so far after weeks of use, sound quality is good but I guess my only complain is the ear cushion. Seriously, the pads are way too small and thin for my liking. I know many reviewers stated that the cushions are comfy and all but it might just be that I have one big head >.<

Therefore, I decided to do this today:

Hows the sound performance of the Chimaera 5.1?
Is it heavy? The cushion comfortable for long hours?
Roughly how long the headset battery can last without charging?

I'm thinking of getting it this coming weekend, but not sure if its comfortable or not..
Now im using the wired version of WOW headset.
I need wireless headset cos im far from my rig.

The connection i use is 3.5mm to RCA, using Belkin Y cable. ( I tried using Optical, but it seem that i cant get any sound from it, dont know what happen.. may be i needto find the correct setting cry.gif )
At the moment i have 2 Headset, Alienware TactX & this Chimaera 5.1, compare to the TactX, the Chimaera are heavier.. coz its bigger and it even have battery inside it tongue.gif . Still the weight is acceptable for me. The cushion was very confy, because its cover around my ears.. not on my ears.. that was a good thing cool.gif . For the battery life, i did use the headset for 5 hrs straight, from the manual it said it can be use up to 8 hrs, and yess i think it can.

The sound produce by this headset are way better than my TactX. I think its worth the money i paid for this Chimaera 5.1,

Wireless + 5.1 = thumbup.gif

Regarding the optical no sound part, did you select the correct input mode on your Chimaera's base station? I accidentally set mine to analog once while I was on optical and wasted quite some tine fiddling with PS3's settings doh.gif Try long pressing the right most button to switch between input mode. But if that's correct, make sure you are feeding Chimaera a compatible format. It'll accept 2ch LPCM and Dolby Digital sources nod.gif

Added on October 20, 2011, 7:23 pmOne more thing to add, it's better to provide a true 5.1 input signal for Dolby Surround to really work its magics. For your case, the stereo signal has to be upnixed to 5.1 first by Dolby PLII before being processed into virtual surround by Dolby Headphone, of which PLII doesn't really upnixes accurately in most cases sweat.gif

Well, now im trying my best to scour every places i can find... I saw the glossy one on taobao... and due to taoabao's notorious reputation for fake/counterfeits, so i need to ask properly whether the armadillo the sellers are selling are mirror version or not... but apparently i have asked 4 sellers, and 2 of them said theirs are original package with mirror finish, 1 is out of stock and the last one is offline.... so im sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif
