Sorry, 16105 you mean? I will rather get the f58, of course. But if I have a budget, then f43 would be perfect.
isn't f43 cheaper than f58?Photography The Sony Alpha Thread V54!, The Orange Legion

QUOTE(alphazal @ Oct 11 2011, 10:39 PM) Hi Guys, Samyang lens are awesome bro I new here. Just "divorce" my CANIKON and happily married to sony a580 and i would say it is much better than my old nikon d40 and canon 50d. i'm planning to get either sony speedlite 43am or 58am but i can't find enough info about this two "cobra" family. some info that i got says that 58am always having overheating issue.it is true? other than different GN are there any other major different? My current gear now is a580+battery grip+ sony 18-55mm+sony 24-105mm ( sony 50mm f1.8 - waiting for delivery ) samyang 85mm f1.4 ( next purchase) I'm more into Wedding and Product Photography. Hope can get some advice from u guys. Thanks F58 overheating? I did flash my F58 continuously and I think overheating is not really an issue for me. |

alphazal : The F58AM does overheat under some conditions. It happens when you flash continuously using full power, which shouldn't be the case. If you are flashing in full power ALL the time, it means you're doing it wrong.
I've had my F58 overheat once. After that, I've learnt my lesson and have never had the F58 overheat again. Don't be afraid to use higher ISO to help your flash along. |

alphazal : The master/slave thingy depends on the body you're using. If you are using A900/A850/A77/A700 then both F43 and F58 can be commanders or slaves but for other alpha bodies you need to use the pop-up flash as the commander.
Talk about technology well, the F43 can give you better control as you can select power up to 1/64 but then again it has lower flash output compared to the F58. The most frustrating thing is that you don't have enough power on your flash to give you the results you need. That is the reason why most experienced user will advise you to get the top of the range flash if budget is not a concern. This post has been edited by shootkk: Oct 12 2011, 12:26 AM |

alphazal:
IF Manual Controls, yes, 43 has more option. if technology/spec in Auto mode, both more or less the same. get F58 for better cycle time. overheating is when you set your aperture to F8 (higher) and burst non stop. or iso200 and burst non stop, which you are doing it all wrong. |

alphazal: The F43 can be master also, but your A580 doesn't allow master-slave wireless flash. You'll have to use the pop-up flash to trigger the F43 or F58 off-camera.
shootkk: The F43 does 1/128 power too. ieR: Ah, but people forget that the A900 still has the BEST ISO rating on DxOMark. Any other "supposed" ranking is perceptual, probably because that person is not shooting RAW and not pulling shadows and dynamic range. |

alphazal: Use the pop-up flash.
Set your flash mode to wireless on the A580. Raise the pop-up flash. Set your F43/F58 to RMT and it will be triggered when you press the shutter. |
