I new here. Just "divorce" my CANIKON and happily married to sony a580 and i would say it is much better than my old nikon d40 and canon 50d. i'm planning to get either sony speedlite 43am or 58am but i can't find enough info about this two "cobra" family.

some info that i got says that 58am always having overheating issue.it is true? other than different GN are there any other major different?

My current gear now is a580+battery grip+ sony 18-55mm+sony 24-105mm ( sony 50mm f1.8 - waiting for delivery ) samyang 85mm f1.4 ( next purchase)

I'm more into Wedding and Product Photography.

Hope can get some advice from u guys.

if we talking canon or nikon rumor, i believe is not true. but some how sony and m43 rumor are very reliable and this round it is SAR4  multiple source  sayd a77 is not the toppest model in apsc, very interesting.

since the sony centre SA no call back me to explain the more detail, then i have to wait. quite terrible this area sony centre, althought is rare item sold in shop, but this gal job is  she is quite look down on me when i ask her about dslr

alphazal : The F58AM does overheat under some conditions. It happens when you flash continuously using full power, which shouldn't be the case. If you are flashing in full power ALL the time, it means you're doing it wrong.

I've had my F58 overheat once. After that, I've learnt my lesson and have never had the F58 overheat again. Don't be afraid to use higher ISO to help your flash along.

what about " technology". does't 43am advance then  58am?

Samyang lens are awesome bro Sharpness is similar to Zeiss, just missing AF.

F58 overheating? I did flash my F58 continuously and I think overheating is not really an issue for me.

How advance you want la bro? Both also flash, what do you expect? Lol.... F58 does its job well, no complains from mu side except for the slightly touchy legs which mine faces =,=

Plus, 1680Z instead of 1650 f2,8? Ahaha.

I find the wideness of 24Z is good enough for my daily use

something like master and slave. if i'm not mistaken f43am is slave only right? and 58am can be both.

don't know la ..but my interest now are more to cz maybe due to the IQ... 16-50 ok la.. but i think can cover that with tammy.
can't wait to get samyang 85mm..

alphazal : The master/slave thingy depends on the body you're using. If you are using A900/A850/A77/A700 then both F43 and F58 can be commanders or slaves but for other alpha bodies you need to use the pop-up flash as the commander.

Talk about technology well, the F43 can give you better control as you can select power up to 1/64 but then again it has lower flash output compared to the F58. The most frustrating thing is that you don't have enough power on your flash to give you the results you need. That is the reason why most experienced user will advise you to get the top of the range flash if budget is not a concern.

overheating is when you set your aperture to F8 (higher) and burst non stop. or iso200 and burst non stop, which you are doing it all wrong.

alphazal: The F43 can be master also, but your A580 doesn't allow master-slave wireless flash. You'll have to use the pop-up flash to trigger the F43 or F58 off-camera.
