Added on September 7, 2011, 6:04 pm QUOTE(popfish @ Sep 7 2011, 05:54 PM) " out of focus " simple... but many people out of focus 'image' is ugly. that is when quality of bokeh is in question. bright line, cat eye, soft transition etc This post has been edited by ieR: Sep 7 2011, 06:04 PM |

QUOTE(Newbieeeeee @ Sep 7 2011, 08:44 PM) What's your definition of over-editing for this image then? No offence, but I don't see a way to do a 'just-enough-of-editing' in between this image and it's original one, actually. Do enlighten me. The title says it, 'Imagination'. The viewer needs to use his/her's.This post has been edited by lwliam: Sep 7 2011, 09:14 PM |

QUOTE(shootkk @ Sep 7 2011, 09:07 AM) You should ask yourself whether you're in for the long haul with Sony and whether you're going to go full frame in future. If yes then the Zeiss will be a much better investment. The 28-75mm is strictly for those with a FF cam and tight budget. the slow focusing is slower than 75-300 itself? my 75-300 always like to perform focus hunting..lol...i like its metal body!ahpingko : That depends on the condition of the lens. As you already know the beercan is an old lens. Although it's built like a tank but wear and tear do occur over time so make sure the lens is in good condition. The beercan is also a slow focusing lens although the 75-300mm is not fast by any means but keep that in mind. Of course if you like the 'Minolta' look the beercan is famous for then it's a good buy. ieR : I like the shot but one thing bothers me. The grass flowers (the white bits on top) is much brighter than the subject and I feel that it is a little distracting in a sense. That's just me lar... nice shot overall. QUOTE(gjtan @ Sep 7 2011, 09:21 AM) Ahpingko, personally I do like the beercan, and what I have to agree with shootkk is that the beercan is very slow in focusing especially in long end. QUOTE(chiahau @ Sep 7 2011, 09:59 AM) Which 70-300? how much is that tamron 70-300?...The 75-300 or the 70-300G or the Tamron's 70-300 ? Tested the Tamron's 70-300, quite good bargain for its price. Unless you rather get a 70-300G from Sony, the Tamron might just do fine. Off topic - Many people keep saying, upgrading to FF ish good and etc. But frankly, how many of us do really use the full potential of the FF? I don't geddit when some newbie who just got lotsa cash to go around and say I've gone FF, wow~" Personally, I do not do large size printings, 4R normally nia. I don't think I'll use the full potential of the FF since i've yet to max out my aps-c potential, thus no reason to even go FF. Is that something logical? XD QUOTE(cjlai @ Sep 7 2011, 10:33 AM) depending on wat camera body u using..... if beercan on SLT it will not b tagged with slow speed anymore i am using a550..lol.. |

Orrrrr, it might not be Saturn.... that it might be that dude is in a galaxy far far away where the planet is on a binary system orbiting that Saturn-like planet, where this binary system is orbiting a Sun-like star in the centre of THAT solar-system. That way, a binary system could orbit around each other at a closer proximity - as in the image! Imagination

Imagination and that photog who took that pic in a galaxy far far away also uses the same tech as us in DSLR? |

And it could be recorded on some alien organic substrate which has quite a narrow dynamic hence the total dark foreground, losing all details there.

QUOTE(popfish @ Sep 7 2011, 10:38 PM) Put it this way, (most of the time, not always) the shorter the focal length from its widest point to the narrowest point, the better the image quality is from that particular lens. So, an 18-55 kit lens is actually better than the 18-70, and so on. |
