QUOTE(Dark_Angel85 @ Sep 5 2011, 07:08 PM) are both of it matte finished? cause the matte finishing makes it antifingerprintable... if that's a word Not quite matte, yet not really glossy either. Rubbery, I guess, and while you can leave finger trails on them, it's actually quite hard to leave actual finger prints. BTW, I now have some ready stock for OTG, just in case anybody's interested

But really, Papago has such a crappy UI that I myself use Sygic most of the time, unless I'm in some ulu place not on the Sygic map. If I'm using the SGS2 for nav duties at all lah. I have an old half-broken N86 I ONLY use for Garmin XT anyway, considering NONE of the nav apps on Android (or iOS for that matter) has proper support for speedtrap POIs. @DestEX: diff map types, but MFM develops for both. Native gps device especially garmin would of cos be better. Hmm that day my papago got alert on speedtrap or is it just speed limit. Cannot remember. Papago may lack function but have no problem getting from A to B with it. This post has been edited by antt00: Sep 5 2011, 08:06 PM

Its one of those must have app. I have been using XXKG3 modem in all the subsequent roms I have tested and use. The main reason why I use this is because unlike the newer modem version, when phone is idle long time , even with my 3G always on 24/7, many times I have to disable 3G packet data and than enable it again to get it working. I found KH3 not so good as I have been experiencing continuous disconnection many times a day. It shows connected but the internet access just fail. So I have to disable/enable it - quite leceh n frustrating Some user mentioned is due to Juice Defender ( maybe ) but I don't have this issue using JD on XXKG3

quote=benny888,Sep 5 2011, 03:47 PM As a standard operating procedure, I always advise users to wipe their phone if you are moving from one cook to another. It will eliminate a lot of issues. Just use Titanium Backup to backup all your apps/data. Restoring back usually takes 5-10 minutes only. I always believe in starting from a clean rom. I have been practicing this principle in all my Androids . The only thing you need to do manually is to place back your widgets on homescreen. Your set fiormat where /how you place your apps is all restore back . However if your present rom is Samsung TW and the cook rom do not have TW as option, than you will not get this restore back [/quote] TB can restore all the phone data like SMS, pictures and etc?

I am so happy somebody responded to my post. Means alot to me Basically I just need tips and tricks on how to get started without having to go read through the whole Forum post. My questions are simple: 1) What are essential/important apps i need for my phone? 2) I'm quite confused bout rooting. Seems like there's alot of different "roots". Which is the best for me now?

OTG I'm in

For rooting and flashing custom roms, i'm afraid you have to read and know what you're doing. And it's also good to know why you doing it. There's nothing wrong with rooting/flashing but i advice you familiarise with your phone first. Try to know each of every apps that comes with your phone. That way you'll know what app doing what, either that app is important for your daily use or not. Later on you can freeze (by rooting ) or uninstall any unwanted apps from your phone without distrupt your daily usage or the phone system itself :-)
