Update from Cognition 1.5 to 1.5.1
With Cognition its easier to update Rom, unlike Villian Rom which will wipe data. Yes Cognition is more simple and snappy. Good thing about Villian is more to tweaks... miss the Desktop version tweak !!! |

Kernel is BIOS for your phone.
ROM is a package of UI + Kernel + Modem Good thing about Android is you can customize to build different combination of ROM, kernel, modem in your phone. |

You can Google BIOS, its a term for PC.
For Android we call it Kernal. UI is user interface. |

As a standard operating procedure, I always advise users to wipe their phone if you are moving from one cook to another. It will eliminate a lot of issues. Just use Titanium Backup to backup all your apps/data. Restoring back usually takes 5-10 minutes only. I always believe in starting from a clean rom. I have been practicing this principle in all my Androids . The only thing you need to do manually is to place back your widgets on homescreen. Your set fiormat where /how you place your apps is all restore back . However if your present rom is Samsung TW and the cook rom do not have TW as option, than you will not get this restore back [/quote] TB can restore all the phone data like SMS, pictures and etc? |

TB backup only your apps/data With CF4 installed you can test flash roms that uses CWM If all these terms sound greek to you, just go read page 1 post #5 to understand better From XDA benchmark Speed Frey 2.2.0 and Speed mod T27 have the best batetry life.. QUOTE(benny888 @ Sep 9 2011, 02:13 PM) ROM Manager is unreliable when you wish to restore roms. It is compatible with certain roms of SGS II not all roms. You could have a 100% good backup, but pray you get a good restore. I always advise, if you use rom manger always test its restore - don't assume it will work Thanks.. never know it will fail on restore. Then I will just uninstall it. It looks a bit unpractical, that's why I doubt on it.Nothing beats Clockworkmod - it is 100% reliable in backups and restore. CWM has never fail me |

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Sep 10 2011, 01:23 AM) I hope I'm wrong the the price but I did cracked my SGS around 2 months after it was launched . Paid RM530 for it . An advice for u , make sure they change both your screen + lcd together . My case was a cracked LCD , screen was ok yet they changed only the lcd , used back my screen . Problems came a week into using , the screen keep popping up as the glue is not sticky enough . After a few days of making a fuzz at the service center , they finally changed everything as a set ..... Same prob with Samsung when they replaced my screen for omnia HD , they tend to change what is faulty yet quote the price for the whole set . Bro, yours is AP set right? |
