Update your driver. I had Optimus problem with my default driver.

Has anyone got the issue of suddenly heard a distort sound, and speaker not working,left only subwoofer has the sound?
And anyone has met any situation like dvdrom wud suddenly make a sound as if it is reading smthg?

It happens to mine."BAM",then suddenly no sound.It happens when i were watching movie then MSN or facebook notification sound pop out.

My dvd-rom also like tat but it rarely happens.So far only 2 times for the past few weeks.

sigh. the "bam" happened 3 times jz for tonite =,= cud it be driver issue? or subwoofer? was ur subwoofer on?

my dvd rom acts like tat everyday, but not tat often occur.

My sub-woofer is on.I have to close the media player and reopens to solve the problem.It didnt happen to me lately.

Is there only i7 versions (N55SF-A1) in USA ??? NO i5 ??? I did not find any i5?!

It happened a lot of time b4 reformat,but after reformat,only once so far.

Hey guys, its me again. So I'm going to try to do another backup since my last backup only used 4 DVDs whereas everyone else used at least 5.

Question: Does it matter that I have already installed some programs (audio and video editing stuff, Firefox, Rocketdock etc)? Will this affect the backup in any way?

I also experienced the same. BD drive sounds like reading something but there was no dvd inside. Quite annoying...

Speaker seems fine for me.

what goes in to u backup DVD is only the win7 recovery partition.....

So you're basically saying it doesn't matter that I have installed other programs right?? (because everyone seems to do it first thing after reformat or when they first get the computer, so I just thought it might affect it)

i just reformatted not long ago

Nope it does not matter....
Everyone reformat once they got the laptop cause there's lesser bloatware and problems compared to the 1st time you open your laptop
Lesser Bloatware = Lesser broken registry and Files = Faster BootUp time = Lesser problems

Should be compatible, its 2.5'' SATA SSD...
Power consumption should be little higher, depends how often you access the 2nd HDD..
