About the RM700 27" 2560x1440 S-IPS monitor I had mentioned before
Finally i bought it and this is the picture
Quality is good, no dead pixels, glossy screen!, bright, wide viewing angle
it is the same panel used in apple cinema display
most importantly it can reach 97hz using just nvidia gt430 or gtx560ti, some guy in OCN get it to 124hz++ with gtx680
the only complain is it slightly lean to the right side, due to the crappy stand
but it has vesa mount so I will consider getting a better stand

If you are from EM, get from Dell. Don't take your chances with getting a used Dell monitor. One of the most valuable selling point of Dell monitor is the warranty. How much could you really save getting a used one?

That is true. Retail Dell monitors come with service tag and usually they only care about the service tag. If the purchased was made through Dell, they would require you to verify your information. Monitors bought through local dealers do not have this information registered with Dell. However, chances are, the used monitor being sold is pre-registered. You may contact Dell if the warranty is transferable. You are advised to get a new unit from Dell. The money saved is not worth the trouble.

I read a lot of sellers mention that HD5850 don't work with it.
While some people mentioned that using it on their 5850 cannot show BIOS but works when it reaches windows.

Do you have any method/know any people with 5850 that can test that out?

yup some model cannot work with it, either it is too old or too weak to support it
I cant find the list of non working gpu anymore, it was in the company website
But those non working gpu models are just minority
majority of gpu will work
Were u so unlucky to using the specific model that the monitor dont support?

i dont have 5850 to test it out
but u can always check OCN forum for more information
however the thread in there is overwhelming due to the popularity of these cheap monitors

example of one of the ebay seller

Yeap I was aware of that.
I have yet to purchase it. With the price war going on at ebay, it went from $400 to $320 now, which is like RM1000 shipped.
Plenty interesting price point

As to your wobbly stand, maybe you can get a Vesa mount?

320usd was the price to ship to USA right?
what about shipping cost to Msia? probably cheaper?
what about bulk orders and shipping?
since Msia dont tax computer accesories right

not sure about getting the vesa stand
i need to first remove the back arc, which if i accidentally broke the plastic connector, will probably void the warranty
i am using some plastic cup to temporary balance it right now

and a good vesa stand is not cheap
it would somehow break my intention of getting this cheap and good monitor
dilemma -.-

Shipping cost is the same worldwide.
So you can tell us how much they make.
Based on catleap at $360, yours being $230-ish, they make maybe $10-20 per monitor. But they might get bulk price since they buy more
But if it is ship to Malaysia, then shipping is like $70 from Korea. so they can make maybe $60
So in actual sense, it monitor cost is $300 shipped to Malaysia if get from retail
If you want to help me buy and ship from korea can geh biggrin.gif

No tax for computer stuff to Malaysia.
Ketam might be greedy and claim this is a TV, which is taxable. In that case, need to go visit them already.
But if you can visit them, then for sure is no problem with tax.
So far, I found Pos Malaysia to be plenty reliable for my stuff. In addition, Korean EMS pricing is very cheap, even when compared to Malaysian International Poslaju price.

Also, they are appearing at garage sales, the yamasaki catleap
But super expensive. From ebay with zero dead pixel is $430. Buy from this guy without dead pixel guarantee is Rm1500, need to pay for shipping lagi. sweat.gif
But i'd prefer non catleap, due to the stand. Maybe a crossover/shimian others.

sorry but i am busy with my studies, so i dont want to take any extra responsibility
maybe u can organize a bulk order with some good ebay seller?

somehow I get my zero defect version for the Non zero defect version price
It seems like the seller did mistake on the price listing
But he did sent me a zero defect version, with the zero defect orange color sticker on my box

personally i like the catleap design thats y i choose it over the others eventhou it is about RM100 more expensive

also beware that the zero defect policy only gurantee Bright pixel, not Dead pixels
only 5 dead pixels above is subjected to exchange

No worries. I was not serious
Nice input on the zero pixel there. I thought it was bright pixel from the get go, so the extra charge might not be worth the trouble.

Maybe I'll try to nego with the ebay sellers since shipping to Malaysia can net a cheaper shipping price from them.

As for which cable... a basic HDMI cable will do... around RM10 or less (paying more for it is just dumb, more cents than sense)

Monitor: 1080p, Dell u2312hm or equivalent.

I forgot to ask, the Dell U2312hm doesn't have HDMI right? so what should I use instead of HDMI cable?
